Why the hell this Bulgarian "actress" pretends that she is Canadian when the facts are that she is of a Bulgarian descent. She also speaks English , we all do, and if I recall , correctly there was a interview with her where she speaks Bulgarian, I mean perfect Bulgarian. You see folks, the issue with lots of Bulgarians and of course more people from the former Eastern Block, once they go to let's say Western Europe and the US they automatically become ashamed of their cultural background, so they change names to hide their identity, for example Rumiana Ivanova, aka Rumi Ivanoff, Peter Dimitrov, aka Pete Dimitroff, or Pete Dimofski kind of Jewish last names to fit better. And these types of "patriots" when they go to a Bulgarian gathering or a Church, automatically forget that they live in a foreign land and start speaking Bulgarian again. This is very sad. If I was to show off my home in the US to a Bulgarian TV crew, I will speak in Bulgarian. If it was a foreign crew , then the conversation will be English. But this Nina Dobrev is such a character that when I see her on the Vampire Diaries re-runs, I change the channel. To me a woman who constantly brags about her pride that her roots are from Bulgaria, yet the image is I speak English before a TV crew from the same country, is a slap at the face of all our ancestors who gave blood and sweat to give freedom of the Bulgarian "kids" abroad 150 years later to mock nation and heritage. When I see Nina marry a Bulgarian snowboarder, I will shake her hand personally. When I see Nina marry Sean White and I see Sean make "banitsa" or give snowboarding lessons to the next gen of Bulgarian snowboarders in Pamporovo I will pay his dinner in the most exquisite restaurant in Sofia. Bulgaria, but of course before that I will ask him to say to me in Bulgarian the National Anthem, let's see how much he loves my old country. Since that will not happen anytime soon, I have no respect for these two and I do not give a fuck what most of you will say, defending both. I also live abroad, but never forgot where I came from. That is why, I come back to Bulgaria the last 22 years, once a year to remind myself of my clan, which dates back to 1820s, from the town of Trojan. When I see Nina and Sean doing the same, my opinion will change. But till then, I am skipping this interview and move to another video.
