Anyone who isn't a tea drinker - you can buy empty tea bags, both plain & unbleached. I recently saw some in Daiso, the Japanese store. Anyone else, your tea leaves can be composted; if you don't normally compost, just dig a tiny hole in the garden as deep as your hand & put them inside, covering back up with any removed soil. The earth will take care of everything else. Decomposing food waste in landfill sites is a major cause of pollution (methane gas & leachate run-off into our groundwater system) & every little bit diverted from landfill helps. I'm getting so inspired - hubby will be rolling his eyes when I tell him not to toss my leftover teabags!! He is already helping me save (as in not automatically tossing) security envelopes & travel catalogs that seem to arrive every week. Very clever items today. I just discovered you, so await more inspiring ideas!
