The song is about non-healthy relations, when you constantly get hurt but still continue it even if you feel like dying sometimes. At the same time I felt like that they brought it to bigger level. I could see political message also. When one nation feels ok to invade other, abuse and think that it’s ok.I think Ninety One is also deeply affected by the war in Ukraine.

Ukrainian scenario could played out in Kazakhstan. my country shares borders with Russia on the west and north, on south with China. it's like we are between a bear and dragon. sigh. + Russian politicians openly say that northern part of Kazakhstan belongs to them and another nonsense.so, yes, 91's 'Abuse' has a political message too.
