Only so much in the quality part. Quality takes a bit of a dive when you freeze the mixture solid before mixing. This will always produce a less smooth ice cream than a traditional ice cream maker.

This would be great for people who are lactose intolerant or aren't able to find healthy alternatives to some of their favorite flavors. They can test out their own recipes using almond milk, lactose free milk, stevia instead of sugar, etc etc. There is almost no healthy choices on the market with that same ice creamy taste and the few that do exist are super expensive.

I'm sure by now someone else has mentioned this. The reason that some things came out crumbly is because your freezer is set to a very low temperature. Remix is the way to fix it, but you could also bump the temperature in the freezer up a bit.

Explanation about the noise: It needs to crush what is harder than frozen water, which is a very difficult task for a small kitchen machine. They do it through a gearbox after a really really hard-working motor, which spins extremely fast It is many times faster than the usual blender or mixer you have. The great box reduces the spread but delivers a very high torque, which is the key feature here. Yes, integrating noise isolation is possible, but for sure this caused increased price in a way that no one would pay for it. We advise you to put it in an insulation box of foam or wood. Never use it very near to you. With time this could cause big damage to your ears.

I’ve made homemade ice cream, and I can tell you it does take on average overnight to 24 hours to make ice cream. I make the ice cream base, and that has to chill in the fridge for at least 12 hours up to 24 hours, it’s a laborious process but the end results are worth it, and far better than what you get in the grocery store.

its a copy of the pacojet, a seven thousand dollar machine. I can't wait for other brands to start making their own versions.
@robertmullan1592
@robertmullan1592 2 жыл бұрын
This is essentially a consumer version of the Swiss-made Pacojet system, used in many upscale kitchens (e.g., Heston Blumenthal's restaurants). The Junior model runs to over $4,000. If the CREAMi's performance is anywhere near the Pacojet's, it would appear to be a bargain. I would surmise that the CREAMi could also--like the Pacojet--turn out excellent creamed vegetable soups, farces (stuffings), and savory mousses.
@diegoiunou
@diegoiunou 2 жыл бұрын
Ohh, I wanted to mention the Pacojet! Being a professional tool it retains the versatility the consumer version lost, such as making portions out of a large container instead of blitzing the entire small container. Nevertheless, the Creami brings a high standard culinary process into the home kitchen and that's BEAUTIFUL. P.S.: For those who complain about the noise, remember that this is a POWER TOOL. You're literally turning rock hard ice into powder... What were you expecting?

Just picked one up for summer iceee snacks :) In my kitchen it's no louder than my blender. May be louder in kitchens with less sound dampening qualities (ie, stainless steel kitchens vs. wood cupboards or bigger kitchens). It says to use the juice of pineapple for example instead of water because it's not a 'blender'. It wont like being asked to shave and incrporate ice. You can use frozen fruit though. Just read easy directions and you'll have a blast with cool snacks for the hot days. Half a pint at a time is fine for me and our family so i make up bases and put them in the freezer (bought extra 2-pk of the pint containers with lids) cause we like diff kinds of ice cream. I LOVE it and very easy to clean. :)

I know it's not in the instructions, but I feel like I'd want to scrape the edges of the container down so the mixing blades could get to it after the initial mix. Then put it back on and remix it to get those edges mixed with the rest of the container. If you look at it after the initial mix, it looks like it's not getting all the way out to the outside parts. Just my own preference I suppose. Otherwise, that thing looks awesome and you made everything you mixed sound amazing. Thanks for the review, James!

My partner saw your video and ordered one against my request. We have the top of the line Breville ice cream maker which we use only occasionally. We gave the Creami a try with the chocolate recipe with addition of toasted hazelnuts and the vanilla gelato substituting basil for the vanilla while heating up the cream. We were both blown away with how great both turned out. I think we’ll be using this more than the Breville. We have three containers sitting in the freezer ready to process. Regarding the noise you mentioned I was prepared for a sense that I was inside a jet engine so the moderately loud hum was a relief. It’s really not so loud and it is for a pretty short time.

My only experience with Ninja was 2 x 1100 watt blenders. I used each one 4-5 times a day and exactly the 2 year mark…it died. So, I bought another…and again…the unit died at the two year mark. But if you calculate the number of days in 2 years x 5 uses a day…the machine was a work horse! Total over 3,600 times used. I want a creami….to turn my Bulletproof coffee into an ice cream. My over $700.00 professional built in condenser ice cream maker would not be able to turn water into (wine) no…. Ice cream! It seems this one can! Yes, I am sold! Gladys, Toronto🇨🇦

I remember my first Ninja blender in 2010. It was the best blender I ever had. From what I saw is there are areas that need to be cleaned a lot or else they get moldy. I bought their single-basket 8 qt air fryer. It's very finicky at the start-you have to revamp all of your cooking times and temps-but it is incredible when you finally figure it out. It massively cuts down on the cooking time, and is very easy to clean up after.

Ninja appears to be a popular yet mostly garbage brand. A good indicator is the amount of "new" products you find at thrift stores or garage sales. Shark is another "new" brand that you find easily. These are products that are less than five years old yet they populate these stores and for a reason. I can find Kenmore Oreck Hoover vacs and they're mostly older models that probably function fine still right next to five new sharks that kind of work. You can also get a feel for what items are typical graveyard machines. George foreman grills air fryers crockpots etc. I would advise people try these products via second hand first so you aren't out of pocket much. They usually have the instructions maybe even the box still.

My daughter and I are lactose intolerant, vegan, and she has celiac disease, along with many food allergies. We loved this review. I realized I don’t want the Ninja after seeing your review. Thank you. Your review made me realize I needed to spend a little more to buy the Cuisinart ice cream/ sorbet maker. It has a built in freezer. We buy expensive plant based ice cream, so this should pay for itself pretty quickly. Maybe you can do a review of the Cuisinart ICE-100 Compressor Ice Cream and Gelato Maker, 1-1/2-Quart. I love that I can eat some, then smooth out the top and put it back in the freezer. When I want to have it again, I take it out of the freezer and do a respin, and it's perfect! It is loud, but I think it needs that power to get through the rock hard frozen mix. I heard one person compare it to a drill press. That seemed pretty accurate.

About 13 years ago when I was still working in the kitchen, we had this device called PacoJet, that was doing exactly what this thing does: It let you easily create sorbet and iceream by freezing the ingredients and ten using the blade to shave the mix into something fluffy. Those things were all the rage back then and really expensive (7000.- CHF upwards) but sooooo great. Now you can have them at home for a lower privce That's actually tempting... I guess it isn't as powerfull as the professional version, but for some ice at home? Hell yeah! éittöe Side note: I think your freezer might be just set to low for proper Ice cream, that's why it's crumbly so often. but overal, I'm impressed. The receipes are garbages though from my point of view. All that vanilla extract and corn sirup nonsense... I mean sure, you get it to taste like store bought one, but is that really the goal? I'd rather work with simple ingredients, take a bit longer to prep them properly and don't use the shortcuts. But for the average user, that's not a trained chef, I think the receipes are quite clever and almost guarantee success.
@AirLancer

The corn syrup would be for texture, not flavor. Also, do you expect people to get real vanilla, which is really expensive?
@PLF...
@PLF... Жыл бұрын
@@AirLancer it's both. The less sweet something is, the more you can put into the ice cream and get the same flavor. But the sugar would then be more volume, which prevents ice crystals relatively. Hence, softer ice cream.

Certain blenders like VitaMix and Blendtech can be loud like that.. several espresso stands in Washington that use such blenders typically have them in clear sound dampening boxes.. it would take up just a touch more space inside one and cost a bit more to get one to put your Creami in but the noise reduction would be worth it.. also you can pre-freeze as many pints as you have containers for and just spin them up whenever.
