@@JohnSanders Yes, John. Its the OL701, the one with the temp probe. In fact, the OL601 (8 QT without the temp is $234). It looks that this deal was part of their Prime days, but right now it still available. It has a 34% discount and it is sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Run and get one!🤞🤞

Fantastic review and update John!!! Unfortunately my Ninja Foodi deluxe (original) is still going strong lol, I wanted one of these (the one with the temp probe) right when they came out! I/we use our's 5 days out of the week (actually me because my wife doesn't really cook that much) My wife said "no way Ours works perfectly!" so I have to wait till it dies. Hi John, I've had previous Ninja Foddi's and they're great and recently purchased the 1 lid. May I point out in the cooking instructions, you had your pork loin recipe on the frozen section of cooking instead of fresh, so maybe that's why you did not have to add water? Could be a fault with the cooking instructions though. Also, I noticed that you had the thermometer stuck into the top of your pork when the Ninja instructions tell you that it should be placed from the side of what you are cooking. Just a couple of little points that I noticed.

Thanks for the review. On my old ninja the heating element and fan get dirty after air frying a lot. I wonder if on the new one the same happens, and if that dirt mixes up with food being cooked with pressure since the lid is the same. Can you share your thoughts on that? Thank you

One feature I noticed on this unit is there is no display saying OFF when the unit is still plugged-in but not in use. It may seem like a small thing but that's something I really dislike on the Instant Pot brands I have. Both my air fryer and pro models do it, and it's the one gripe I have about them, just seems redundant to me.

Hey Jelly007, quick question: Do you think it's possible to use an external leave in thermometer with the 14 in 1? The version with the built in thermometer is quite a bit more expensive and harder to find. I''m wondering if I can just use my own and stop the cooking myself. Thank you!

I got the Smart XL unit and am, mostly, happy with it (replaced the 6.5qt foodi). The one major issue I have is with making a large batch of steel cut oats. I make 8 servings at a time and that's 6 cups of water and 2 cups of oats. The foodi did a great job and I only needed to clean the pot when done. With this one, I open it and there are oats on the heating element, the silicone ring and other parts of the lid. Takes a bit of time to clean it and I can't get it all off the heating element. It makes a horrible smell when it burns off during air frying. I have tried quick and natural release. Seeing as how this is a larger pot, and this never happened to the foodi, I don't see how it happens. I tried the sous vide on a chuck roast and it was interesting. Not sure if the 36 hours was worth it when I could have just pressure cooked it for an hour. Overall, it is a great upgrade and I used it multiple times a week along with the XL Grill. Thanks for all these great videos. I'm going to try you pork loin roast soon.
@alcurtis932 жыл бұрын
You could try putting the deluxe rack on top of the oats to reduce chance of them flying up when reducing pressure?

I will be purchasing the OL701. I am holding out to see if QVC/HSN will offer it up in color options. Been so tempted to snatch it up directly from Ninja at the 20% off sale. Tell ya what I have been doing lately, though. I have been mimicking the Steam/Crisp and about to try mimicking the Steam/Bake in my older version. 8qt 8n1. What pushes me into getting the OL701 is the built-in probe and the fact that it can be used while PC. That and the addition of the automatic PC release settings.....GAME CHANGERS INDEED ... :)
