It's Ninja Gaiden, but by Hudson and made for the TurboGrafx-16. It's kinda crazy to imagine how this could've ever come about, but the game is pretty good.

The paralaxing is horrific. Its a shame the background are beautiful

These three games have been my favorite NES since I was a kid. I had no idea this existed. Still…… it’s nothing without the original soundtrack.

Beat the nes game as a kid seeing this version on the turbografx 16 mini and finally playing it pretty much a whole generation later was cool. I also beat the xbox and PS3 versions also worth playing. tecmo really made some excellent games!

Honestly besides the NES classic this is a VERY good version of Ninja Gaiden great updated graphics some of the NES music is well remixed here and I love when you pick a time power up the screen goes black and white a very convenient detail the NES didn't have P.S I love the PC Engine too bad they're pretty expensive though for a pre SNES/Genesis era 16 bit console it was pretty ahead of it's time.

Game looks good but the NES music was 1000x better.

Needless to say, this is what the SNES port should've been. The graphics have so much more detail (even though the parallax scrolling is "jarring" at best) and the gameplay is slightly more forgiving than the NES version. Even though the soundtrack doesn't have the same level of quality as the original, it still sounds pretty good. I particularly liked "Stage 1-1/5-2/6-3 (25:39)" and "Stage 4-2" (19:35). The revised English translation is also well written; Although, it does admittedly annoy me that you must hold buttons "I," "II" & "Select" in order to enable English mode. Why couldn't there have been a proper language selection menu at the title screen?

If anyone want to play a new game in the Ninja Gaiden style, I can recommend Cyber Shadow. It is a love letter to the original Tecmo trilogy.

This PC Engine versions looks a lot easier than NES version. Especially for final Bosses

I never had a chance to play ninja gaiden 1 back in days, I was 5-6 and had my hands on ninja gaiden 2 and am strong fan for ninja gaiden 2, still playing it via retroarch, wish you made new one soon.

Personally, I think that this PC Engine port of Ninja Gaiden looks and sounds better than the SNES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy version. The only real downsides to this port are the lack of a password feature and the fact that it was never released in the U.S. Still, it feels like more effort was put into this than the SNES version.

Wow those scrolling mountains in the back are getting me sick the movement is terrible everything else looks way better. The music is also a considerable drop

If I'm not mistaken, you did post an older playthrough of this years ago, and from what I remember, I said that the script in this version is much closer to the original Japanese. Foster actually says, "You're not that stupid, are you?", like he originally said.

This is cool but I like the HD remake a fan made he only sells it for 4 bucks. I plan to buy it and play it watch it on KZfaq. The image of the video was called Ninja What!? Idr the name but was a pretty cool play through.

Graphically, it looks great, aside from the bad scrolling in the background. The music from the NES version is way better, especially the first stage.

Ninja gaiden was the ish ..this & shinobi. I think i need to invest in a sega and Nintendo because these new systems take too long to produce great games. Back then, gaming organizations put love, time, effort & initiative into games

Despite the busted parallax and the janky new soundtrack, this has a million times more SOVL and effort put into it than the garbage SNES 'port'. Just makes you aggravated thinking what could've been.

Great version,the color is awesome,but the nes is more nostalgic.and the sound like a genesis.

What's funny is how this series doesn't know what it really is. One side is called a side story while the other is called a legend, and in another part, Shadow Warriors. Totally wild if you think about it.

Why did they change the music? The change is not for the better.

While this is superior in graphics in just doesn't have the nostalgia the best version does. The music in the nes version is much better though

The cutscenes and translations seem a little better in this version but good gawd the music is awful compared to the NES version. Everything sounds so upbeat and whimsical like it should be in a Megaman game. 😂

Hudson should have gave Nintendo some heavy comp.

Im not entirely sure whats wrong with this games Soundtrack except for that one track that sounds like Circus Music... I honestly prefer this soundtrack to its NES Counterpart. Especially the Stage 1 & 2 Music!

The more I explore other game systems on YT such as Turbo Graphics 16, Sharp X6800 Sega Master System Commodore Amiga etc.... I come to realize NES 8 BIT was tremendously overrated POS and just had an excellent marketing team and licensing for games

Still prefer the NES VERSION but not a bad remake though.
