He really changes as a character. He goes from evil in season 2, to evil in season 3, to secretly being evil, to being evil in Crystalized.

What makes Overlord different is that he isn't like any other villain, despite being defeated twice he still is trying to destroy the balance.

The Overlord is still my #1 favorite Ninjago villain, and I'm so excited to see him again once "Ninjago: Crystalized" Part 2 is released.

The Overlord is a great Ninjago villain and i am glad he is back , when i was younger the Overlord corupting Garmadon scared the crap out of me but now i am not scared

I have a theory that the Overlord was previously known as the Alpha, the First Oni who desired to corrupt the First Spinjitzu Master. Instead, he was defeated and lost his body. instead of being departed, his spirit became bound to the Land of Ninjago and evolved by becoming the Overlord.

It is amazing to see how far his character has come, in terms of the show, and now the lore this season.

Given the parallels between Crystalized and Endgame(in terms of thematics), Thanos and the Overlord are both different from each other. Thanos wants to be bring a balance whereas the Overlord wants to destroy one, but they’re both done to keep peace, even if it’s in their own image.

I have a theory. What if the Overlord is the First Spinjistu Master? At least, a part of him. He was in Ninjago from the very beginning, but Ninjago was created from scratch. Even if he was an Oni, he wouldn't have had anywhere to hide. Maybe TFSM let out his Oni side when creating Ninjago, which became the Overlord

If they didn’t reveal his identity in the trailer i feel like it would have been more shocking like Harumi still being alive. Cause i didn’t watch any teasers or promo’s for part 1 of crystalized, cause i wanted to go in completly blind, so when Harumi revealed herself, i was in absolute shock, cause i was all "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT". Its a shame they completly ignored that for part 2 with the overlord as he’s one of the most beloved Ninjago villians ever, so the reveal of him being the crystal king in the trailer kinda takes away the suspense of his reveal to the ninja

The Overlord is an Evil SPIRIT. You can't destroy a Spirit. That's why he keeps resurrecting himself. He transfers to a new form, to continue his ambition's and desires. He is basically like Vaatu from "The Legend Of Korra" except a bit different. He will always come back as for he is an ancient Evil Spirit, and a Spirit can't die that easily. The things that can't be destroyed, must be contained like Avacyn said with Innistrad in MTG. It's the true defeat of the Overlord. They have to find a way to seal his Spirit in some form of way, and he cannot escape.

I see the overlord being extremely similar to Apep the snake from Egyptian mythology (and sorry if I get anything wrong I haven’t read this myth in a while and might remember some small detail incorrectly) how Ra (king of the gods basically) represented light and sun and Apep, who was basically his opposite, represented darkness and rain (to make it better they were basically a hawk and a snake) but even though Apep was basically evil none of Ra’s children were supposed to kill him, just hold him back from ruining the balance, because without Apep there would be no rain and the crops would die, but without Ra there would be no sun and everlasting darkness, you couldn’t have one without the other. In a way, the FSM and his descendants represent Ra, and the overlord Apep. Something that cannot die because where there is light, there will always be shadow

I always knew to myself that when the series would end as it sort of has it’ll continue but not the ninja so I’m guessing it will be other realms a little but mainly the side characters and the ninja still appear it’s like what happens when blank happens just the other side of the coin and also then dareth can be a main character but tangent aside I mean the overlord is the everlasting evil who will always exist as when there’s light there will be darkness so basically he had to be a final villian as it only makes sense

The Overlord is so annoying. He really doesn’t have a good reason to keep coming back or to be evil in the first place. I mean Garmadon atleast was forced to be evil by the Great Devourer, but Overlord wasn’t. He’s also really annoying because he just WONT DIE. LIKE PUH-LEASE DIE AND GO.AWAY.
