What a nice garden. FYI, there's a *really* good chance that your peppers will all cross-pollinate and you'll end up with universally spicy peppers. My sister-in-law had that happen by surprise one year and had some scorching poblanos.

Basil gets leggy like that when it doesn’t get enough light. With lots of light the nodes are tighter and it grows more bushy. I had the best results inside when using a fluorescent grow light with a small hydroponic setup. A one foot square container using deep water culture with six small pots produced tons of basil with leaves the size of my hand.
