What would you get if you fuse Mario and Final Fantasy? Well... a game of basketball, what else? I don't know if anyone though of that before this game came out, but whatever. It's a fun little game. There are two tournament modes (normal and hard), a dribble bonus game and a exhibition mode where you can customize a single match. Also a Matchup for two players. The pro mode for your opponents you get at the end of the hard tournament mode is only for those single matches, not a separate tournament mode. -

I gladly remember this game, though I wish I hallucinated its stupid difficulty near the end of it. I don't think I ever unlocked Black Mage.

Man, this was the best Mario sports game that was ever release. Everything worked beautifully and it was so much fun to play. It was hard as hell sometimes, but still. We need a console release of a game like this so we can play against other people.

To anyone who doesn't know: There is a sequel for this game on the Wii. Mario Sports Mix have not only basketball (with exactly the same mechanic and gameplay), but other three sports to play too. It's and awesome game.

Michael Spano you need to get a gold trophy in rainbow tourney in normal mode. For that, for each match, you need to beat the team with 200 points over their score. Example: You won the game by 300 points and the opposing team had 100 points. You just need at least to win with more than 200 points over the foe, it also counts for the extra match.

Loved this game growing up! This was the only game where I used the stylus with my right hand (I'm left handed 😂) because I always found it easier using the d-pad to move rather than a/b/x/y

lol I still remember the first time I played this. Got it for a xmas present the year it came out, wouldn't stop begging my moms for a DS Lite. Hell, I had to borrow my cousin's gen 1 DS to play it...but boy, I still remember the joy I got from playing a game like this lmao... ...I find it funny..I'm 18 now, and I still own that same cartridge to this day, ten years later...still works too.

I remember playing this game as a kid and raging a lot that I broke the top part of the DS and disassembled it with the controller the wires were still ok tho so it’s still playable. Probably the most raged moment ever in my life.

This game is great. It has weird things such as sometimes the colors of the characters changing, the more you played, the more frequent the alternative color characters came. That was fucking revolutionary for me and it still is. And unlocking those 3 characters they were so good to play with and hard to beat and then you had some hidden cactus which was like a mythical creature for me. This game is greatness
