I’ve learned that this fuse blows commonly after charging your device with a cut cord, (a usb cord that was cut and stripped to be just a negative and positive wire, then stuck into the charging port to charge).

When you say you put a piece of wire in, what do you mean? 1 copper strand of that, or did you cut off a small complete chunk with the rubber sleeve and solder that in?

So if I am not capable of soldering in a fuse or wire, can't i just replace the power supply board?
@thewoodbarionshow22232 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could, I didn't try tho. Thanks for watching!

I have a question , what if the fuse is not the issue and still not turning on ?
@thewoodbarionshow22232 жыл бұрын
Check the connections between the power supply board and the motherboard, and even all the traces in the power supply board.

@@thewoodbarionshow2223 i already check it and there is connection but still it wont power on thought its charging.

Well, my dsi have issues charging and turning on. And have to check the battery and d-pad board. Anything I need before I attempt to fix it? I do need the multimeter and soldering iron. What else?
@thewoodbarionshow2223 Жыл бұрын
Q-tips alcohol and compressed air would be a good start, and also the correct bit for the screws.

@@thewoodbarionshow2223 Gotcha. Thanks. Repairing these old consoles is quite the process, but fun to do and worth it to see your past revived for you to enjoy. Thanks again

Well. I fixed a console and now need to fix another. Have you ever encountered a charging issue? A dsi xl I'm trying to fix doesn't charge. The console detects the charger and the led does turn on but turns off immediately. Any suggestions. I replaced the f1 fuse underneath the charger port and the whole power board. Kinda lost...

have the same issue and fixed on my dsi xl, it is safe to use this method? or i need to change the fuse to a real one?
@thewoodbarionshow2223 Жыл бұрын
Most will tell you it's not safe, but I say if the wire used to bridge the gap is the same resistance as the fuse you will be fine. I still have the same console and my son uses it daily.

Of course that fuse was there for a reason, you might want to put a real one in.
@thewoodbarionshow22232 жыл бұрын
For sure, I did replace the fuse before selling the console. This video was about how you could make the system work in case you couldn't get the fuse.
