Please watch this entire video before attempting repair
This video shows how to replace a broken top screen on the Nintendo DSi console. The trickiest part is feeding the flex cables through the housing. This repair will require soldering.

The way you pulled out the hinge so easily...this is my first DSi repair and it's sort of a nightmare in comparison to the DS lite imo

shell swapping the dsi only showed up here because i took the 4 nubs off and didnt see screws so far everythings been done properly..thankyou bro!

Wonderful tutorial, Mate! I did everything according to the video, and everything came out as result! The only encounter that I had different was whenever removing the padded squares on the top shell housing. The screws were hidden behind a shiny reflective tape, however, this doesn't apply to everybody's console. A++ to this man's demonstration!

I tried fixing my DSi a few years back and broke some of the ribbons trying to put it back together... I've had more experience since then so I am gonna try to now fix my 2ds xl 👍

I took mine apart and followed all your steps and I made sure everything is connected right and the power button turns blue for about 3 seconds and then it powers off.

Noticed the speaker wires are reversed when you soldered to new lcd, see 6:38 vs 7:38. Will the speaker still work?

OMG this made me so mad yesterday that not only I damaged the new screen cable, but also the cameras. Now another 2 weeks for the replacements to arrive and try again. The twisting part is terrible. But thanks for the video, it'll surely come in hand

I was going to buy one with a broken screen but I wanted to see how easy it is to fix I heard soldering and I just went nope I tried to fix a 1st gen Xbox and I had VERY bad luck to say the least

Pry up the metal, it is metal covered rubber caps

My DSI somehow got some dirt inside de front screen. Do I need to disasemble the lower part too to clean it or simply open the top part?

Yeah I think I’m just gonna deal with the screen with changing colors Edit: I ended up doing it. I scuffed up the case towards the top and had to buy a new board after accidentally breaking it but it works now.

O yeah, my next video will be about the speedometer (bouncing needle fix) and simultaneously fixing cruise not working. Or a complete distributor tear down and fixing a startup issue.

Con que habia que hacer eso para conectar y desconectar la pantalla 😅 y yo complicandome poniendole cosas para poder hacer ese movimiento, sin duda que es un proceso demasiado delicado, queria saber del microfono ya que no me funcionaba y parece ser que es el cable rosa, lo que lo hace no tan dificil de reparar la verdad

Those rubber caps suck. I tried taking one of them off, and it got ripped in half. I literally cannot open it now.

whats the cable in min 2:00? becouse it completely detached(broke?) when I tried to unplug it, now I have to solder it, and its really micro

welll I managed to solder it, but, i think between tries i did something wrong, the dsi turned on, but i disconeccted the batery with the battery off, I think a fuse blown out, now it doesn't turn on with battery, but flash the orange light once when connected to power supply. HELP

Just changed the bottom LCD screen of mine, and then assembly everything back again, the nintendo was doing a flickering when powering, re open it again and put back again the LCD screen cable and then now the nintendo wont even turn on and while charging the orange lights blinks

I’m going yolo and installing it without speakers then. Got a broken one on purpose as a project…soldering is not a skill set I have. Start with the top and eliminating the broken screen and then work through the bottom. I fix a laptop screen and it wasn’t this difficult. This is ridiculous

A no power issue could be simpler a bad battery, or could involve a bad power board. I recommend buying a working dsi for parts
