For Frillard, I'm pretty sure there's a very rare line from Shrunk in New Leaf where he mentions his "old mentor" who's no longer around - which strongly suggests he was no longer alive.

I still can't believe they didn't add Digby to HHP. Why introduce so many new characters when they knew fans were waiting for the old ones? Even in New Leaf the poor guy was just standing out in the rain day and night 😭

ACNH should have brought back tortermer's island. I would have fit so perfect. I miss playing the mini games with friends

If you go to Harv’s island in the fall, sometimes Tortimer will be wearing the Cornimer mask, implying that they are one and the same.

I'm sure Nintendo removed characters like Joan, Nat and Chips simply because they did not fit the "cute" aesthetic Animal Crossing is now known for, just look how they were replaced with cute young looking characters. Its rather sad.

I miss Shrunk so much in NH, and subsequently miss Frillard. Same with the old bug-off and fishing tourney hosts, should’ve had flick and CJ be random visitors but kept Chip and Nat for the tourneys themselves

I miss the obscure NPCs like Wendell and Phineas.....Phineas I'm SUPER confused about sense....his scout badges would've been PERFECT for new horizons somehow...even if it was just 5 or 10 badges they still could've made Phineas work....Heck they honestly could've made most the NPCs work in the game if they just.....put more effort about it? Not saying that to be mean but there's so many left ot NPCS that easily fit in with New Horizons island theme that are just gone or NPCs that can still work with new horizons if they just thought about it some more-- Edit: also ID LOVE TO SEE THE OK MOTORS TRIO IN MAINLINE GAMES and Bring Blanca back 202k--something...

Maybe one day, there will be an Animal Crossing game that will have every single character including the characters that Nintendo forgot. Who’s knows when. We’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.

I really wish Rover had more participations on AC games, i always wanted him to have his own events so he would visit the island and see how the player is doing.

i hate thinking that some characters got replaced and i just like to think they retired and their family took over like in the case of joan and daisy mae. like cj and flick are related to chip and nat. i just want to draw connections and keep the family involved instead of thinking they got cut entirely. keeps things hopeful that way almost lol

Gracie not being in New Horizons was honestly pretty disappointing to me. Even if her clothes and furniture were very expensive in the older games, many of the things she sold were my personal favorite clothes and furniture sets, especially the Gracie clothing set itself, so said items being expensive was honestly worth the extra effort to try and get them in my opinion.

he failed to mention HARRIET. ik shes at harvs island, but the fact her entire career was first replaced by a MIRROR was heartbreaking to think about. she does still give unique hairstyles for everyday you visit her, but once you have them all, she essentially does nothing for the rest of the game.

What about the villagers you got for scanning Zelda and Splatoon Amiibo in New Leaf? As far as I know they are not in New Horizons, I would have loved to see them again.

to be fair with Rover, we only saw him once usually so I think his appearance in acnh is pretty nice. we get to see him once a year which is more than we got with other games

All of this is why I’m convinced the release of NH was rushed. There needs to be at least 2 more shops, a post office and an upgrade to nooks.

At least joan, Chip, and Nat got replced by by their relatives so it hurts less. Plus i wish gracie was added to maybe change the colors of clothes. I don't care if it made no sense logically, its annoying to only have one color of the shell dress and the able sisters refuse to sell the other colors. Like come on. And i also wish Reese would give you diys (minus the ones Celeste gives you) that you dont have as, the game loves to give you ones you already know to "share" with others. Which is annoying if you can't do that or don't know anyone to give them too. Why couldn't they just have it where new diys take priority over ones you already know? And in the dlc, your cook will give you new recipes first and then after you have them all, it will then repeat. Why couldn't they do it for the main diys?!? Like I'm pretty sure I'm only missing a gold rose wreath and i can't get them because my villagers keep giving me the same thing over and over and then, be surprised that i already knew it. They could have had Reese be the one to fix this. But no.

I'm alright with the characters cut from New Horizons, it's nice to think that they've gotten a chance to retire and settle down. I personally just really miss Pelly Phyllis and Pete. I'm sure an island souvenir post card station in the museum would've been nice :(

id love to see all my favorite forgotten boiz back in the game. but tbh in new leaf I got SO EXCITED every time i saw Phineas because I knew the badge man would give me a badge uwu

I weirdly miss washing Gracie's car and I don't like dealing with the 3rd able sister. I ignore her every time she comes to my island. I miss all of the old characters. They had so much personality. You know who would be fun too. Copper and Buster. They were just funny. Resetti was my boy. Definitely miss the post office characters. We should at least be able to visit them.

It's sad how many interesting Characters New Horizons cut out. Sure, the game wanted you to focuse on building stuff yourself but that gets old pretty fast. I rather want to visit a shop every day and being excited about new Items I haven't seen before, giving my whole bells for it. or just wanna interact with interesting Characters instead of being at home, crafting the same fishing rod over and over again

you forgot about Meow and Bow from Animal Forest E+, Meow sort of returned unofficially using a New Horizons mod, anyway I wanna see Meow and Serena return so they can be alongside my other favourites like Mitzi and Rosie and even Tabby, yes, I see adorableness behind Tabby's face, she's a sweetheart so don't judge her face

In the roost Digby mentions working at an academy and the academy is actually the Happy Home-Room Academy from pocket camp where he’s one of the judges, so if you want more Digby then he is in pocket camp, not a big role but he’s there! Another thing is that Pete is still the postman in pocket camp as well

new horizons is just so empty feeling and i believe it's because of the lack of focus on the actual characters in the game. reducing them to cameos or just mentions, its ridiculous. They didn't even go about making new characters to "replace" most of them. Besides Daisy Mae and the other kids.... It goes to show how much content has actually been removed from the game.

It really doesn’t make sense of how the happy home paradise cut Digby off and replaced him with a monkey. I mean Niko’s cute but like he wasn’t the before and Digby was there way before him and Lottie and Lyle are still there so why isn’t Digby there?

I just repurchased a switch just too revisit and replay animal crossing as here lately I’ve been in such a acnh binge. But after doing so much watching of how new leaf was, city folk, and the very first game, makes me want to purchase a GameCube, a DS, and a Wii again to play those that I have never played. I’ve been interested in all the characters and the lore, and dark theories to the franchise. I’ve gone down such a rabbit hole here. Lol

The island in new horizons is so big, I would have loved to see more buildings. Being able to build up a whole city district and customize it would have been amazing. Even if you wanna say that it’ll ruin the deserted island feel, you could at least bring back the post office. And yeah, put Digby in the DLC

tHonestly now that you mentioned it, the mystery island update is kind of underwhelming. It feels like people mostly forgot about it except for the gyroids but really, that's all there is. Kappns family would have been so great to see, just in general Acnh left so many characters out of the game... When thinking about the old games and characters, acnh feels almost empty to some degree
