Straight from the OG Switch's Wikipedia: "At an investor's meeting in April 2016, Nintendo announced that it planned to release the NX (Switch) worldwide in March 2017." Very similar time-frame we're in now.

An announcement of the next console will make the shares go up in price or at least stop them to go down, so any shareholder with this information will leak it to the press if they think that Nintendo is not going to do it. So this logic doesn’t make sense. They might have held private conversations but they will need to announce it publicly.

Nintendo will tell all investors about a new system as by law it has to!! It cannot selectively choose who knows about it, otherwise smaller investors could club together and take Nintendo to court.

But by law Nintendo should be allowed to tell their consumers like any company what their planning on next what's the point of hiding all their projects in secrecy. If their gonna come out with low tech crappy products. Shareholders especially Nintendo shareholders have all the rights to gain access to Nintendo's innovations and their future projects if their actually helping Nintendo by putting all their shares of money in Nintendo's business pie. Then all deserve to find out what Nintendo is working on and if it'll sell well!

When all is said and done, yeah, this will have been massively overdue. The first switch was so dated already at the time of it’s release that it needed a successor in six years at the max. When this drops, it’ll have been 8 years

it is easy to think that way but if you can not meet demand then you released your console to early imo you say its too long but if it sells out day one I say to early demand and a solid first year of titles is way more important then 10000 people owning a console in its first year.

Yes, Nintendo shared that they’re working on their next console with investors, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t acknowledge this said information to the public on May 7th, via X.

I disagree. It'd be strange to not start marketing soon if this thing is coming out by FY 2025 (March 2025). If it's not coming out by March 2025, then sure. Also if they already have mentioned it to Shareholders, do you really expect them to just not mention again? Doesn't make sense to me.

I just think it’s exciting to think about and imagine what the next Switch could be like! This is definitely exciting to hear that Nintendo is talking to investors about it! And fyi I got that tb memory card from Lexar and it’s awesome! Love it! It’s definitely fast and it holds so many games omg! Definitely worth it! When I bought it at the time it was on sale for $60!

They don’t have to announce it for us to know. In their earnings projections, if there’s a spike in March, it’s releasing in March, and it’s been confirmed.

I don't think they usually give a month-by-month forecast, so we wouldn't know if there's a spike in March (unless I'm mistaken ofc). They just give an overall forecast for the whole year as far as I'm aware.

I know they give quarterly results at the end of every quarter, but do they make forecasts for all 4 quarters separately from the very beginning of the year?
