You're treating Monolith Soft like Square...these devs LEFT Square cause they didn't want to do things how Square does things. Look at how that worked out, Square is pumping out many many games, but their sales aren't going up but down. Sale projections aren't being met. Cause Square's philosophy was not a great one. Monolith took the path of we just want to make games that are fun, we have a vision, we will take our time, if the game sells well great, if not, oh well, we made what we wanted and stand by it and now it's on to the next one. Monolith takes more risks and has the slow and steady practice. Monolith is doing just fine as they are.

There is nothing wrong with being a niche developer. You don't need to make a game that sells 10 million copies. If you have a budget, meet your budget, have a loyal strong healthy fanbase that buys 1-3 million copies and you make a profit that is enough to live on, then you are GOLDEN. If your focus as a dev is we need to make a game that will sell record numbers to make a certain amount of money, you are in the wrong business and you will fail. Make good games with in your budget and the money will be there.

Monolith soft basically MADE the world in breath of the wild, more than just " support zelda"

Legacy actually makes perfect sense for X. Cause it’s not about space travel. It’s about the last remnants of humanity striving to survive on a distant planet. I think literally all the space travel happens on the first cutscene where you crash land. It has equally as much to do with space travel as pikmin. Maybe even a bit less cause you aren’t trying to rebuild a shuttle to leave. You’re trying to build a base to stay cause the earth is gone. You could easily call a colony like that humanity’s last legacy.

Remake/Remaster of X. Legacy refers to the fact that it’s a legacy title from the WII U. The entire point of a code name is to make it difficult to know for certain what they are making.

New ip is something I'm hoping for. Nothing would do Xenoblade more good than a little creative break. We don't want this to turn into another milked to hell series that loses quality. Doing something new gives the thr ability to break rules and establish new ones.

Its most likely a Xenoblade game meant to go as big as BOTW did. As for a Zelda remake, yea they could be involved but I don't see that happen til much later. I think we are getting ports.

Monoliths new game is likely a "new" game but I think it will be a new "Xeno" game. There was Xenoblade, Xenogears and Xenosaga. So They could be making a new Xeno game. It's not Chronicles 4, it's a fantasy one or such.

Just imagine if that 'Legacy' game from Monolith was in fact a semi open world Ocarina of Time remake, that would be insane.

It would be cool to have Monolith work on a remake of a zelda game. But, i really hope they are make a brand new medieval IP.

I've read in some interview, I forgot the source. They are pitching a few new game but Nintendo only greenlight xenoblade. So I thing this is still xenoblade with different theme or different mechanic. They like Bethesda also because their rpg is so alive ( the interview is before fallout 76 or starfield even a thing) For the legacy thing I have another perspective. If you already finished XC3 future redeemed, in one of the cutscene there is vector logo and mentioning Demitri Yuriev which basically a character from Saga and is not like when Kos MoS became a blade in XC2, in here is more than that. When Kos mos became a blade in XC2, Bandai Namco is mention in the credit as special thanks, but in XC3 FR Bandai Namco listed more that special thanks, is just like monolith have more permission to use the Saga lore to be in XC3's story, or something like that. So it could be the next Xenoblade it will have retcon with Saga and called Saga blade? 😂. This is my another assumption, they remake or remaster xenosaga. If they remaster saga, there will be a new content that retcon Saga and Blade. And not mention it, Bandainamco open 2 new studios to support Nintendo next gen console. Oh yes a little edit, it could be project x zone 3 or somabriger remaster 😂

If Production Team 2 is making a Zelda spin-off or remake that's fine but I'm not sure what the obsession with Monolith developing in house Nintendo brand games is. They wanted to become a Nintendo subsidiary so they could get away from Namco, keep their creative freedom and keep making *Monolith Soft* games. If Team 1 ends up making an in house Zelda that is a massive fail and flies in the face of why the acquisition happened. And not every game needs to sell 10 million plus copies, software/franchise diversity and appealing to a developer's strengths and creativity is more important than forcing something with sales potential on them.

Reach a larger audience on Switch 2....lets not get a head of ourselves, right now, Switch 2 has a staggering userbase of ZERO. Switch has a userbase of 142 million. It would have a higher chance at doing better on Switch 1 lol.

Great video! I am of course very excited by all this , despite the naysayers you will always get around any 'rumour'. I remember as you appropriately show around (0:40) the original XC X totally blowing me away with the amazing and rich Open world they presented on the Wii U. While this may seem like a bit of 'deja vu' , the Wii did not have a fanbase of _over 100 million!_ Just as We all found out from the Watershed announcement 3 weeks ago, things seem to be lining up really nicely for the Key Software too.

Three potential ideas that come to mind with a code name like Legacy. All of them might be wrong. All of them might be insane. With the size of Monolith Soft and the help they’d get from Nintendo, any of them are possible. 1) Full remake of Xenogears so it comes out as originally intended with modern graphics. 2) Xenosaga Trilogy remake/remaster. 3) If it is Zelda-related, that Zelda-ish character model did look like Sheik (who is revealed to be Zelda). So a spin off of Ocarina of Time using the graphical fidelity of either the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 engine or the BotW or TotK engine to tell the story of Hyrule while the Hero of Time is locked away in the Temple of Time. The Legend of Zelda: Legacy of Sheik.
