I recently did this same repair, but the replacement didn't work either! I was so confused so took apart my own switch to install that cartridge reader to see if my soldering was off, and then I somehow broke that too! I was livid. Great repair, I enjoy watching your videos! From a fellow midlander!

Thanks buddy. Yeah they can be a pain sometimes but generally I find when they don't work after replacing the cartridge mechanism it's because it got dropped or the connector is damaged. The problem is if the connector gets damaged it has a small bga chip behind the connector which makes it very difficult to replace the connector without affecting the bga

I did had this problem on the V1 switch and how I managed to get it to work was to repeatedly insert and remove the audio jack while game inserted and it fixes it!

I followed the video and fixed mine but stripped out the 3 edge screws while trying to install the back on. Oh well, it works now.

They're about £7 to buy now mate so definitely better to replace the slot then the entire module 😄

Hello. I have question is there any fuse or what chip on the switch main PCB is responsible for the right joy-con? Couple days ago my brother use RCM to check my switch and from that time my right joy-con is not working, it's not problem with broken rail or connector, i replace them both and check them in other switch (works) i found the point just under the right joy-con ribbon connector that is equivalent of RCM pin 10, i try to ground it and check if the hardware button work to turn console it in rcm mode but even from this point it's don't do nothing. I check the joy-con i the different console and it's work.
