We breakdown everything you need to know about the upcoming Nintendo Direct that was revealed earlier today, before speculating on what this means for Animal Crossing New Horizons and how it affects Animal Crossing as a whole moving forward.
Specifically we suggest Nintendo could be working on an Animal Crossing remake, based on some strange references that have surfaced in recent Animal Crossing releases.

new leaf was the PERFECT animal crossing game. new horizons ruined the entire atmosphere and gameplay design by adding features that made it feel way too sandboxy and like you were a god rather than regular person

you can tell with new leaf they were so ambitious with new leaf and releasing the amiibo update, especially when Nintendo had rarely done stuff like that was a big leap for them and this would allow them to delivered that polished finished project they could have only dreamed of giving us on 3ds

Well it is more fun to be optimistic and discuss the franchise we love so much... I remember when people were saying absolutely awful things to me for hoping and saying the roost was coming to New Horizons lol.

I see your point, but at the same time, just because Voldemort wands are currently being distributed by the Nobel Collection, doesn’t mean they’re remaking Harry Potter lol. The only time there’s good merch for an entry in a franchise (when it’s new) is if there’s a collectors edition or something like it, otherwise we’re always waiting years for the good stuff, and since they just shut the online features down, New Leaf is under a spotlight lately

Not gonna lie i have already preorder the 2 new set of lego animal crossing 😊 can’t wait for it to be release. And for the amiibo cards i home they restock in France to cause i get trouble found some to continue the collection.and obviously realy home for remake of ACNL since i never play it.thanks NH to put me into this universe.and of course tanks to u Mori for ur content and sharing with us!

I'm not going to get my hopes up, but if they made an HD Remaster of the Welcome Amiibo version of New Leaf with the visual, and QoL upgrades of NH, i'd be down for that As long as they don't change much with character dialogue or cut any series... and expand on the Nintendo items instead of cutting them and hardly having anything Would love to see my Robo,Cabin, NL space and Nintendo items again honestly And bring back the monthly item distributions would be really nice, too... At first i was enjoying NH, but eventually i got burnt out and bored of it... at a point it felt more like a chore to play than fun, honestly....

First of all, I love your passion for Animal Crossing. Second, a new Animal Crossing game will come with the new console. It will probably be after the first batch of games. Third, I haven't heard of a remake but hope it's New Leaf. Some new players to the franchise may have not played the game and it's great. Keep shining bright.

I would be extremely happy with an Animal Crossing that has quality of life updates. If they keep crafting, then we need to be able to craft X amount of items at one time. If they keep terraforming, it needs to be faster, and control better. Have the A button be "Create" and the B button be "Destroy." Just a couple examples of what Im looking for. Also get rid of the durability mechanic, or at least make it so golden tools don't break.

If they remade New Leaf before remaking GC or Wild World I would be mad. Unless they fixed the villager dialogue. Then I would be happy with anything at this point. I just feel like if they remade GC or WW and left the dialogue the same as in those games (or even added to what was already there in terms of dialogue) then even more of the newer AC fans would see how much better it used to be and how much we really need the villagers to get back to how they once were. AC was not originally about just making your town exactly how you want it. It was about moving to a new town and living in it while making friends with your neighbors and really getting to know them for who they are as individuals. I really do love a lot of the new features we have had since NL came out and it is stuff we all wished we could do back in the day. I just want villagers that feel alive again and I would be happy. TLDR: Another old AC fan complaining about villager dialogue in the newer games. :P

I honestly don't think New Leaf will ever come to the Switch mainly due to 3ds features that the Switch lacks. Luigi's Mansion 2 didn't really use any exclusive 3DS features like streetpass or the microphone so it makes more sense that it could be given a Switch exclusive.

I think it makes ~direct sense lol. Ac fans say new leaf was top tier, the market for the franchise grew, so remastering new leaf for a new console and a larger fan base would probably be smart marketing!

I still think an Animal Crossing remake is kind of pointless. A remaster maybe for people that didn't have a 3DS and couldn't play it, but they are better off putting the resources towards a new game. It's like remaking an old Mario Kart or Smash Bros game. If there are mechanics you like in those games, you can bring them back in the next installment. And with the next console coming soon, the next Animal Crossing game doesn't need to be years away. It's possible there could be one near the launch. Especially if they didn't waste their time remaking New Leaf.
