Celeste is well worth it. Definitely one of my absolute favorites! Probably one of the best chapters is the last one "Farewell".

Hey Felix, love that you are doing video reviews of older games on the channel! Much deserved for an excellent gem like Celeste! After your recent performance in What's that Track, I think your next review on the channel definitely needs to be Ori and the Blind Forest.

Celeste seriously holds a special place in my heart. I played it when I was going through a hard time and the story really hit hard and was pretty emotional. I struggle with everything that she does and It's one of the few games that made me want to complete the game no matter how difficult it was just to see the end of her story and when i reached the end it was one of the mot satisfying gaming moments of my life and don't even get me started with the soundtrack it's a 11/10 game

Celeste is a perfect example that a game doesn’t have to be a interactive Movie with ultrarealistc graphic to be emotional . And the Core-Gameplay of Celeste is just on Point. A Masterpiece!

I used to welcome challenging games & strive for 100% / platinum no matter how hard. Now i prefer calmer easier experiences but celeste is one of those that assures you it's okay if you're struggling, it's part of the process. An important life lesson... This makes it easier to play.

This video is perfect timing as only 2 days ago I completed chapter 9 and as someone who is a bit of a masochist I loved the challenge but nearly lost my mind with how damn long it was but overall I really enjoyed my time with the game and it alongside games like Shovel knight, Cuphead and Ori are must play indie 2d platformers imo next I’m gonna take a look at Hollow Knight

I actually am not a huge fan of 2D platformers, but I LOVED Celeste. It has a certain irrepressible charm I haven't found in any other game I've played, and the emotional journey Madeline takes is truly touching. I also found that, while I tend to be a somewhat impatient gamer who prefers more relaxing experiences, I liked the way that my losses pretty much always felt fair in Celeste and the game encouraged me to keep going and learn from my mistakes. The fact that I could die on a segment as many times as I wanted without losing any significant progress was a big incentive for me continue trying again and again without getting insanely frustrated.

I got Celeste for myself last summer as it was on sale on the eShop and I was kinda interested in seeing what the hype was about. I went into the game expecting that at some point I'd need to use the Assist Mode options to actually finish it, but I wanted to see how far I could go before I needed to turn to that. ... Turns out, with enough perseverance, I made it through the whole game without even once turning on the Assist Mode! I actually kind of surprised myself! I didn't do any of the B-sides or anything, but just getting through the main game as intended was enough for me to feel pretty proud. This is definitely an amazing game, and I'm not one to usually like 2-D platformers.

This’s actually perfect timing due to Fangamer just announcing a physical release for this game. It’s one very near and dear to my heart due to how brilliantly it tackles mental health, identity and self-worth with some hard but super satisfying gameplay, gorgeous pixel graphics and amazing chiptune soundtrack. I couldn’t reccomend it enough to anyone who somehow has yet to play it.

To provide a different perspective, i never liked Celeste and I first experienced it on switch. I found that a lot of the platform design in the mid-late game doesn't prioritize fun as much as it prioritizes challenge. Hard games can be fun in their own way, its very satisfying to pull off a difficult maneuver, but the type of extremely small margin for error platforming present in Celeste didn't leave me feeling satisfied, it often left me feeling frustrated, even after completing a hard segment successfully. It has the same gamefeel as something like super meat boy, but where that game works because of its bombastic and punkish style, literally putting your hands and brain (and character) through the meat grinder, I found that Celeste's themes of inner peace and introspection were at odds with its "bash your skull into this wall until the wall caves in" approach to platforming. I know many people here love this type of game, but even for a platformer junky like me I just couldn't get into it.
