We managed to overcome one of the biggest challenges in Super Mario history: jumping over an enemy more than 100 times in a row in Super Mario RPG for Nintendo Switch and earning one of the game's greatest rewards.

Don't read this comment if you don't want spoilers, continue reading if you don't care: So what happens is that in the game, Bowser kidnapped Peach (again) but this time the Smithy gang captured Bowser's castle and broke the bridge so no one could enter. After the sword lands in Bowser's castle, the 3 of them are launched to different places, including Peach, who lands on the tower of a crazy man called Booster, who wants to marry her in "Marrymore". During the preparations for the wedding, Mario and Bowser break through the door, accidentally hitting Peach in the process, which causes her to drop her chest jewel, her shoes, her ring, and (most importantly for her) her crown. The sniffits that help Booster's wedding realize about it, so they cooperate with Mario's gang to bring her items back, and depending on how long it takes you, a different cutscene will happen, if you take like 10 seconds, Peach will kiss Mario, however, if you take longer, it will be Bowser, Booster or both of them who kiss Mario. FIN.

I'm so glad they extended it to 100ms. This was the most frustrating challenge outside of the Final Fantasy X lightning strike challenge for Lulu's legendary weapon.

The lightning strike challenge is a LOT worse in the original PS2 version from what I know.

@@Brawndo2008 Indeed, in the original version the count of lightning strikes dodged resets the moment you get hit, later versions gets rid of that thankfully.

@@barbe00brune I disagree, but everyone has different skills, but the jump rope was easier for me than Lulu's lightning challenge. That one took me forever to get the correct timing down.

Fun fact. The original Japanese name of the armor is the Super Jumper. It makes more sense then it just being classed as a suit.

CRC (Cappy Return Cancel) is a glitch that allows cappy to teleport to locations very far away from Mario, usually to activate checkpoints and captures to reach places early or not intended. A popular application for it is to reach Metro Kingdom much earlier than usually intended, used in speedruns

It’s better to have a Jump-immune target for this challenge simply so that if you fail you can try again instead of having to end the current battle, find another enemy or force them to respawn, and initializing another battle before being able to try again.

Yeah..I finished the whole game 100% including post game content (all post game bosses) including both Culex fights without doing the 100 jumps thing, I couldn’t even do 30 jumps so I went for everything else the game had to offer and it worked.

You press the Y button in the original. You press the special button when doing the magic moves. Geno's charge moves in the original say hold Y for power.

I would pretty easily do 30+ with blinking. Don't know if it's been changed, but the jump rythem changed at several points

Yeah i never thought this challenge was very hard.... I think there are harder challenges in mario games. I can't even beat mario vs donkey Kong for gba (at least not without cheating which i haven't done (yet))

I watched a video that said to press the button at the LAST POSSIBLE SECOND, and that's what I did. After 15-18 you get in a trance and you want to stay in that trance. That's how I got it

I managed to make 150 jumps and got an item called the Attack Scarf which Only Mario can wear. Add Lazy Shell and Super Suit and you have a pretty overpowered Mario just...don't be too full of yourself, Smithy is still a formidable final boss.

Took me a day & a half on The SNES classic to get the 💯 jumps but it's worth it to get The Super Suit. Bet hardly anyone managed to pull this off in the SNES original.

You can plug your controler board thru a sod-c board delay with a pc and run the code through at slowed rate and back out to the switch. Makes this super easy

Took me about 3 hours, but I got it. My record was 53 before I got 100 in a row. I felt the need to get it sonce Culex's second fight absolutely obliterated me immediately the first attempt I tried.. which pissed me off, so I got everything in the game within a few hoirs, went back and stomped him. Great fight though!
