We used to have great fun shooting western action down here in Victoria, but our shooting stages were restricted by the range set up. As much fun as it was, club politics eventually sucked all the fun out of it, and most of us sold our revolvers and went on to other things. Watching this video made me really miss it.

American cowboy shooter here: yall ausie’s have an awesome match going on! I wish our matches were more inventive like yours. We don’t do cowboy clays, no 22 stages, and speed shotgun is a side match at big state championships and higher. I’d love to shoot with ya!

Powders for all disciplines is still hard to get hold of. Primers are still in short supply. Believe me, Nioa is trying as hard as they can to procure powders, primers and everything else shooters require.

I don't see a lot of recoil from the guns. When I was shooting I used stock guns and full power loads. The first time I shot someone asked me what the heck I was shooting because my guns went BOOM!!!

i'm trying to get into this shooting discipline. got me some cimarron pistols and a double barrel shotty. just hunting for a good rifle, all the 1873s are outta stock these days.

When I do it I wear a Henly shirt and blue jeans... that is pretty period correct and does not look out of place in modern times.

I lived in Florida for decades we had cowboy action shoots all over. I moved to Alabama where if you mention cowboy action here people look at you like you're speaking Chinese. Everyone shoots trap and skeek here.
