Today I want to show you my Nioh Axe Hole build, my best axe build for way of the demon. This build rips way of the demon difficulty an axe hole, and is very versatile.
I am using two sets, both the Tetanashi 4 piece and the Warrior of the west 5 piece. I am going for high lightning augmentation stats as well as close combat damage to those affected by electrify. If you manage to stack the electrify element with this build, you will tear everything to shreds.
After the Kusarigama nerf in 1.10, I have been looking to create a simple build that is balance in all situations. Axes got plenty of buffs in 1.10 so I wanted to give it a try. I have managed to get hits over 125,000 damage with this build so It has tons of power and in my opinion is the Best axe build in Nioh.

Today I am going to share my "Buffy the Yokai Slayer" Way of the Demon build that can use either the Kusarigama or Dual swords without swapping stat points. This Kusarigama/Dual sword build is based off of my previous build with some new flair.
My best build build does a ton of damage and has plenty of versatility. After the last patch we all had to deal with increased Amrita requirements and decreased levels. The biggest downside to this was that you have to focus all of your levels to one weapon, but with this hybrid build you can have a deal plenty of damage with both the Kusarigama and Dual Swords.
This build uses two sets, both the Kingo's and the Warrior of the West to maximize damage output. With the right special effects (which I have detailed in the video) you can crush Way of the Demon difficulty easily. All of my gear in the video is level 200 and maxed at divine level 20. This is easy to accomplish with both the Hyakki Yagyo mission (which gives you tons of materials to dissemble) and Restless spirits (which gives you 1.5 million gold per run).

Made a mistake in the video! Was using Battle focus instead of Rage (which is the damage buff shout) so all the footage you are seeing is much less damage than this build can put out. Sorry about that, I am like Ron Burgundy just reading it off the damn screen without equipping the right skill, lol. Rage is the shout you want to use.

tracerbeast hey . . i have a question for you I completed the game and unlocked way of the strong but there are still side quests in way of the demon ( nobunaga and obsidian warrior) it's so hard and I'm still lvl 107 should i just farm?? and if i should can you tell me the best place for my lvl? :(

After the core stats I'd usually pump Magic and Spirit up to 45 to take advantage of some of the Spells you can use. Carnage + Mad Spinner + Rage = *Spin to Win montage*

Throughout all my builds I have never shredded yokai so fast especially after I watched your buff explanation stacking water with it melts even more...I just wish I had a tad bit more stamina. Edit: forgot to say thanks...so uh thanks😅

wouldn't lumber chop get the biggest dmg buff from rage?(i understand your making a spin build) Also, when you lumber chop with no status applied, wouldn't that mean you don't get the electric buff?

To anyone's knowledge is it possible to learn/max all weapons skills(sword twin sword kusarigama etc) with skill point from samurai locks, maxing all weapon proficiency and leveling the right stats(heart etc.)?

I know this is really late asking you for this. But if you could make a written over-view about your stats on each piece so it's easier to follow/roll/look for instead of having to flip through the video every time that would be awesome.

Hi i have a question, why not use kaido set whit 30% of Skill Effect Extended Battle Focus?? Instead of weight attack bonus.

todo clan probably. the bonuses it gives are significant but you have to be wearing heavy armor.

Hard Generator - 200+ weapons can drop from the buffed (glowing red) enemies but I think you need a lot of luck.

I think the higher the mission level, the better. I hear some people have gotten higher level weapons/armour from Bovine Demon and Hands of the Dragon.

Absolutely! You can use Komori instead of Bisha as a secondary spirit to get 6% more rear damage (rear damage is not very important to this build though because the spin can be uncontrollable at times). You can also use a little trick I like to use with inner light. If you are farming Hyakki Yagyo, or any of the missions like it, and you have purification damage rolled onto your boots you can use the Yokai pool to increase your damage with Inner light and immediately purify it after you kill the Yokai. You will get the 17% buff for purification and the next Yokai pool will spawn and you will get a multiplicative effect from Inner Light while standing in the pool. This can also be done by just throwing a Yokai Water pot down anywhere you are fighting.

tracerbeast as far as armour goes tho this is the best setup? I was running 3 wotw, 3 kaido amd 2 tatenashi. Would that do more damage? I would like an axe build that wows people cause I hear so many talk down on it lol

tracerbeast when killing bosses I wasnt really seeing the benfit of the lightning buff, seems like they died before they buff?

With the Kaido set up you only see around a 5% increase to Close combat damage, so for enemies without weakness to lighting it will be slightly better. But if you stack lighting with the wotw set, you will see a giant increase to damage. With lighting stacked I can get upwards to 27k a hit on some enemies while spinning. If I am using lumber chop against an enemy with electrify stacked it will be over 100k damage with a rear attack. It comes down to preference, I like burst builds so this one is more fun for me to use.

tracerbeast i see, is there a reason you werent hitting for 27k per spin with a mad spinner in this build? I think im gonna try it out!
