Kurt Cobain died on 4/5/94 - less than two months after this show. I'm always looking for uncirculated Nirvana Video/Audio. If you taped Nirvana back in the day or happen to have any uncirculated Nirvana media comment.

Nirvana hadn't even peaked. I wish Kurt didn't go the way he did. American music would be very different today. When Nirvana ended, it opened the door for some terrible genres and bands.

Yeah, I've been a Nirvana fan since I was an 8th grader in 2002 and I saw a lot of their live stuff before but now on youtube I'm seeing a bunch of shows from 1994 and it's amazing how much they improved. Their Nevermind tour shows were all out of tune, sloppily played, drunk/high, crazy audiences, messy shows. This 1994 tour they are absolute professionals, they sound perfect almost the same as the record. I never knew they could play this clean live and I'm addicted to it.

Most of in utero and nevermind was written in 1989 1990. They really were not at all prolific with new material after nevermind was released. Maybe Dave would have started writing too but even if he had not died I doubt nirvana would have lasted. He had really had enough at that point. He would probably have been like jd Salinger, living on a farm and telling everyone to fuck off who tried to meet him. I guess we will never know but the revisionist history regarding nirvana is extreme

Actually Three songs off In Utero were less then a year old, Scentless Apprentice, Heart Shaped box, and Serve The servants. Two of which had Dave Grohl listed as a songwriter. I think Nirvana would of be just fine, with new songs. Listen to You know you’re right, Talk To Me, and Do Ri Me, Kurt was starting to write new music that was still amazing

Dude, nirvana were DONE. Kurt had fuckin had enough. I know anton brooks who was their press guy in the uk from bleach til the end. He said they were done. All three of them had lost the passion for nirvana. It’s just not fun being grown men being manipulated and lied to by your management and the record company. Nirvana were a cash cow and kurt had OD’d half a dozen times, they could see he was probably going to end up dead so they started controlling who was around him, putting handler’s with him all the time which made him even more miserable. It was a ridiculous shit show and there is almost zero chance they would have made a new album. Also, know your right is a fucking b side at best. It is not a great track, it’s just ok just like the other songs you mentioned.

Kurt honestly hated the jag-stang he played onstage from what I know, I could be wrong though. I think he wanted more adjustments done to it. I'm glad he was endorsed by Fender, they did an amazing job making the Sonic Blue Mustang for him. I think the red one was the same one he had used from the Roseland Ballroom show in New York City, NY July 1993, but was modded to have the identical look and sound of what he wanted the Sonic Blue mustang that fender made to look and sound like. So sad they quit making them and selling them, and it was just a limited time thing. I really wanted one brand new, in both the fiesta red and sonic blue color, as well as the roadworn fender jaguar they had sold for a limited time before just selling the NOS version only. Though I love that one as well, though the specks on the sonic blue mustang, specifically the black humbuckers is not what he used, he had the off-white humbuckers for it, and on the jaguar, the humbuckers are too close together compared to what he had used, where the neck pick-up was closer to the neck, and the bridge pick-up was closer to the bridge. Though overall, Fender did a really amazing job, after all, Fender is known for making artist series signature guitars look almost identical to the real deal. Now if they started selling both the Mustang and Jag-Stang again, I'd be really happy to have the opportunity to have all 3 someday. Or even just one, specifically the Fender Jaguar. I wanted that guitar since I first discovered Nirvana when I was 8 years old, back in 2006. Crazy how I'm now going on 22, still a huge Nirvana fan, and musician inspired by Kurt and Layne Staley, as well as Jerry Cantrell very heavily.

Yeh its a shame he hasnt gone on musically. Hes a hell of a bass player and could have hand picked his own band. What a great guy ...he was raised very well. So now he dabbles in politics. A very thankless job. He would at least gather some rewards had he stuck with music. Yes i know the loss of Kurt was devastating to him, but to keep the music going is really the best way to honor Kurt IMO,, not the politics he hated so much. Well maybe it was just time for Krist to do just for Krist, but i sure miss him not being out there playing his heart out. I guess the bottom line is there will never be another Kurt, Life goes on and we all stumble about. God bless you Krist.

Its not exactly a pep rally song. I wonder what percentage of the audience actually knew what the English words to that song were translated into French, or was it just a catchy tune for them? Melora Creager on cello gave an account of Kurt meeting sketchy people backstage who were clearly there to sell him drugs at this show. The ensuing days in France saw Kurt extremely loaded with some of photographer Youri Lenquette's friends who sold him heroin. He also did a ton of coke too at this point (buzzcocks attested to that) in addition to klonopin and other prescription drugs to help manage withdrawal. But he was resilient and always gave a good show somehow!

I'm so happy to be the owner of one of those sonic blue Jag-Stangs:) Great show for a 94 show, by the way. After the french shows it was downhill for Kurt perfomance wise, imo.

+Tomnedreb I agree, the show in my city, Rome, was unfortunatly the worst of the all tour..he didn't say ONE WORD not even Hello or Bye...he didn't move at all and rushing to the end like he was living a nightmare there...I saw him the next day outside the hotel and he said he was cold and feeling sick...

+Alba Yeah, I remember reading about it in the press back then. To say it like this, I was not shocked when I heard about his death. I think we all saw that coming...

Tomnedreb Tbh at that time I just thought he had health issues and I was not so surprised of the coma incident here but I didn't think He could shoot himself...he was worst than everybody thought...very sad.I remember him being so quite and gentle and sweet...

+Dylan Connely They tend to be overlooked. Paris and Rennes are always celebrated, but Grenoble (I love that one) and Toulon are often neglected. Toulouse sounds energetic too, and the audience is pumped up - shame about the poor quality recording, but better that than nothing.

+dummytree for some reason Kurt's voice just sounds so much grittier and raspier in the French shows compared to the Portugal, Spain, and Italy shows. I feel like he put in a lot more effort in the French shows

I've been watching every european show in sequence. Toulon it was another great performance, from the band and from the audience, wich responds very well. Kurt seems the usual: sometimes piss off with something, sometimes enjoying a lot. This night he looks well, so much that speaks a little more and praise the audience at the end.

thanks for sharing and the work on the video, excellent. This is the beginning of the end for Kurt, the band, and this final tour. 2 days before Valentines and more than a week until his birthday. Never should have went onto euro leg...no one seemed to be putting 2 and 2 together.

He should have kept a bodyguard(s) with him at all times for his safety, just in case. He couldn't afford to merely walk around freely unprotected anymore. Being wealthy and famous makes you a target, whether you do drugs or not. He might still be alive if someone was there looking after him. Unfortunately his wife had other plans for him (cremation, home demolition & selling all property and journals).
