I was there. Not in this concert. But in that world -1993. That was another planet. One where you gladly gave hours of your life to one single song, days to one record, weeks to one video, years to one band. No instant gratification addiction. Just sheer expectancy. Dates marked on a calendar for the next, concert, the next song release, the top 10 video countdown of the week. It was all a hunting, a waiting game. For a CD at the store, for a song in the radio, for a video on tv. No FOMO, just sheer enjoyment and expression. No scrolling, no next video, no swiping. There was no share button, we were all living it everywhere. The air in the whole world smelled of Kurt to us Nirvana lovers.

Not as a songwriter. He is rightly considered to be one of the greatest songwriters of all time - up there with John Lennon. Kurt continually referred to the band as a punk band. In Come as You Are, Kurt said, "Looking back on the production of Nevermind, I'm embarrassed by it now. It's closer to a Mötley Crüe record than it is a punk rock record". Why would he say that if he was in a grunge band trying to make a grunge album? Also, there is famous quote from Kurt, something like, "Punk is musical freedom. It’s saying, doing and playing what you want. In Webster’s terms, ‘nirvana’ means freedom from pain, suffering and the external world, and that’s pretty close to my definition of Punk Rock." Grunge as a genre was a marketing tool cooked up by a record label to make music from the Seattle scene more marketable. Does that sound remotely like something Cobain would've wanted to be associated with?

Nirvana's live performances were absolutely 2nd to none. Fucking hell all these years later and not a single act in today's music can touch these guys.

John Lennon's "Please Please Me" and "Meet The Beatles" Gibson acoustic guitar went for $2.5 million in 2014. Kurt Cobains MTV Unplugged 1959 Martin D-18E just sold for $6 million!!! Kurt, dude, you're a LEGEND!!!! 😉😉

To the comments below. There are still bands that have energy like this. Going to a hardcore show, you'll find some of the best energy between the band and then crowd. The band plays their heart out, and the crowd is just having so much fun. I'm 28, so I'm telling you, I've seen bands with great energy and music, even if it involves screaming which I know alit of ppl don't like, but the energy is amazing
