I remember when my friend called me on the phone and told me to switch to MTV. Btw we were kids back then who rode skateboards and listened to SuicidalTendencies, M.O.D, Jane's Addiction. The video Smells like teen spirit was on MTV, that's when I heard Nirvana for the first time. I remember that then a friend told me over the phone: These are going to be a big band, their name is Nirvana.🙂

smartass grunge came from punk and nirvana basically themselves claimed so. Moreover it was Mudhoney's vocalist who came up with the word and if he didn't made thw word up today Nirvana would have actually been called punk (which it actually was).So stop debating with me coz u have no basis for your answers and moreover their 2nd Guitarist Pat Smear is well proclaimed punk legend of L.A!
