Kurt would be in the process of divorcing Courtney on January 8th 1995 and would proceed to gain custody of Frances on the 23rd of that same month because he would see her differently due to the stress of trying to repair their soon-to-be fractured marriage.
Whilst Kurt would do that, at the same time he'd actually try to put into the work to get clean.
He would then tell Krist And Dave that he wanted to take a hiatus due to his spiralling mental health and the way he treated those closest to him. (Keep in mind in our timeline, Kurt's health did start to obviously decline due to his addictions and the band was going to break up around the time of his death in '94)
The band would soon agree to a 4-and-a-half-month break. Kurt would soon agree to check himself for the second time into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with the intent of enrolment in a 90-day intensive detox program.
Whilst he was in rehab, he would have the time to write new material for albums that Kurt was planning to make since the In Utero era.
He would write "Me and my IV" which would become Do Re Mi and the name of Nirvana's 5th album and many of the other songs that would be on said album. Including a new song called Escitalopram.
After he finishes his detox program in mid March (which he'd do successfully due to being preoccupied with writing new material)
Nirvana would soon start jam sessions with Kurt's new material from March 25th to April 10th, and then record said material on the 30th of that same month.
"Me and My IV' would later release on May 15th 1995 with fanfare and to the fans it would be an album that would stand the test of time and pave the way for new artists.
