Samaneri Jayasāra - Wisdom of the Masters

This is a selection of key pointers from Nisargadatta formatted for guided meditation, taken from the texts, 'Seeds of Consciousness' and 'Nothing is Everything'.
Nisargadatta Maharaj (17 April 1897 - 8 September 1981), born Maruti Shivrampant Kambli, was an Indian guru of nondualism, belonging to the Inchagiri Sampradaya, a lineage of teachers from the Navnath Sampradaya and Lingayat Shaivism.

Breathtaking. I've listened to many of these recordings, often feeling what is being shared is the ultimate truth. I enjoyed his teaching so much that I wanted to read his famous book 'I am that'. I went to the library but no branch in the local area had the book. I placed an order to have it in the library. Read Drg-Drsya Viveka translated by Swami Nikhilananda. Typical and conventional English words and even translations are not perfect and helpful sometimes for this sort of discourse. Take it from me as an American native English speaker, there is a severe deficit of terms to describe consciousness and what one could perhaps call "inner space" and metaphysics beyond it. You don't necessarily need to engage directly with the Sanskrit terms to understand the core and actual Wisdom involved in this teaching from Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, but it could possibly be of tremendous aid to satiate the mind, dissolve the questions/questioner and truly fall into a meditativeness that is ineffable through the path of this "I AM" inquiry. I also suggest you google and read about the sound and term "Aham" (as well as "Idam").

For just a quick translation of what that title even means, it essentially means Seer-Seen Discernment. And it is based on a 14th century text that is an expansion/elaboration/reiteration of Upanishadic Wisdom.

This teaching of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and what he is getting at here goes beyond most of what Drg-Drsya Viveka involves but it is a necessary foundation, at least as far as the appetites of intellect may go, to understand this teaching. But the depth of Self-realization involved in what Sri N.M. is describing can most certainly be attained with all the reading and intellectual pursuits. There are many ways water can return to the ocean.
