I think I'm going to do this exact setup. I already have the 3" spacer on the front with the ADO high clearance UCAs and I wanted to upgrade the shocks. I was hoping to keep the spacers and honestly this setup is a much better option than just running the Billstiens at full height. This was very helpful. Have you had any issues with brake lines or CVs since?

No issues with that set up. It actually worked very well. I have since gone full Titan Swap as I started to do more rock crawling and harder lines.

Thinking I am about to do these on my Fronty. I got the strange engineering lift on mine but need to do UCA's too. I've had it on for a while but it rides like shit and I am finally figuring out the UCA and bilsteins will probably do a good job of settling down the crappy handling.

Sick rig! Was wondering if i can run the titan swap but just use bilstein 5100’s and a 3” spacer. This way i have the 3” and some room to play with the 5100’s.
@HardEnduro8
@HardEnduro8 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Don’t think you can with Fronty Bilsteins and 3” spacer. That’s not enough lift. Usually you need about min 4” lift for the Titan swap to work correctly as the mounting points on the lowers are pushed out 3” on each side.

Both your water heaters wouldn't pass inspection 2 things are wrong, first of all the 2 T&P Relief Valve line are supported to drain down ward and they both have a loop which traps water, that creates salt, which impairs the value to open when needed, second both your gS Valves need a dripp line and cap on them, so condensation won't get in the value's.

So you didn’t take out the spacer on top of the spring. And use the adjustable Bill Steen shocks. You have both space or lift and Bill Steen shocks. Did you use the tallest setting on the Bill Steen shocks.? For a total of 5 1/2 inches
@HardEnduro8
@HardEnduro8 4 жыл бұрын
No I kept the spacer vs adjusting the bilstein. The reason is when I went to use the spring compressor it put sooo much pressure on the spring to collapse it enough to do the lift seemed like the ride was going to be really harsh. With the spacer on top, compressed the spring to stock height and it seemed like it worked better as the spring was not nearly as compressed and the ride quality was much better. Hard to explain but you’ll see when you install it. It takes a ton of pressure to get that spring in the top notch.
@frankbailey1733
@frankbailey1733 3 жыл бұрын
You can adjust lift height, so why did you not ditch the spacers?
@HardEnduro8
@HardEnduro8 3 жыл бұрын
Because when u compress the spring that much it makes the ride really harsh and limits the travel of the shock. When u use the spacer it relocates the shock lower but doesn’t limit the travel as much as compressed spring would.

So you didn't do the after market upper control arms because coil bucket contact right? Just more for looks, because i have read if you do a spacer kit that the UCA will hit the the coil bucket you never had a issues with that? I also was thinking about these shocks as well did you go get a alignment afterwards to?
@JeepTrailsandBarbells
@JeepTrailsandBarbells 5 жыл бұрын
Also did it help bring the front diff up as well? Other wise did it put the front axle higher up then the hub so the CVs are going downwards to the hub? Reason i ask is i did a calmini DB and my axle now sits lower then my hub so the CVs are pointing downwards from the hub to the axle instead of the other way, so if this picked up your front axle y 3/4 of a inch then im for sure going to do this.
@HardEnduro8

Jeston Hickle No I got the AM upper control arms for the bucket issue and it’s a much stronger part then OEM. Plus it has upgraded ball joint and zerk fittings and u can align these were OEM u can’t. IMHO the AM control arms are a must for this vehicle. It was literally the first upgrade part I bought for my truck.
@HardEnduro8
@HardEnduro8 5 жыл бұрын
Jeston Hickle the control arms didn’t lift the front at all, they do allow for better articulation over stock. The spacer kit, 33” MT tires and bilstein have lifted my front end about 4”. My CV’s are pointed downward and not stressed. I also disconnected the sway bar. And man that sway bar was limiting suspension articulation in a major way. Sooo mad I didn’t do it sooner. Truck drives SOOO much better now. Both on and off road. My turning radius has also improved.

Ray Riva that was my plan. However when i used the spring compressor it just didn’t seem right to put all that pressure on the spring and limit the travel. With the spacer it does not apply nearly as much pressure on the spring to get the same lift. You’ll see what I’m talking about once you remove and spring and see how much pressure it would take to hold it in second position. Good luck
