My workplace has ordered two of these, one of which that will get assigned to me. So my car will get outfitted with drawers and shelves that will contain almost everything I need as an distribution electrician / meter technician... so it will be interesting to see how the batteries are going to last.

Usually the passenger variants of vans have better soundproofing as the back part is open. Cargo doesn't need soundproofing.

@Steve AtTheVan I had a rental Caravelle once in Germany and that one has double windows. Front had some wind noise but that's understandable when you're doing 140kmh on the autobahn. That car was honestly quieter than my my 5-series here in Finland where the roads are like they've been licked by a cat.

In summertime with not the orginal tyres, but with Nokian Green 2 AA, that have 67DB it´s a big differens, the most sound from the car come from rear mirrors and rear wheelhouse then you drive on way with gravel, i will sound issolation my rear wheelhose in future, Nokian Green 2 AA i think you will say are Good shieeet, the tyres are so silent that you hear the engine more, i drive Evalia version with Nokian Green 2 AA.

Nissan builds the e-NV200 and NV200 since 2001 with the same noise bug. You can fix for 1c if you like and there is not much noise increase anymore. e-NV200 must be preheated by knob on intelligent key to gain range. The rear underbody of the car is open like 40kWh TEKNA and so both cars loose a lot in aerodynamics. A 24kWh e-NV200 is faster on highway and charges at almost 50kW for a long time.

hi Bjorn, is there a chance you could test vans fully loaded? i think most people seriously considering would mostly worry about fully loaded range. maybe get a large water tank you can fill and drain for easy handling or a lot of 25kg gym weights?

Could you write in kilometers; what kind of range this van get's in winter? Rough estimate with 90 and 120? (Many people, including me only cares about that, not the odd numbers bouncing on screen or you casually mention on video)

Bjorn, when you test a vehicle that has its speedometer way off like this (likely because of tires), it will most probably measure trip distance and consumption wrong by the same factor. That means that you have to: 1) Adjust cruise speed by GPS - you do this alright. 2) Adjust range *and consumption* according to real_distance/measured_distance - that’s what you’re missing to have fair comparison among TBTP results. You’re welcome :)
@bjornnyland
@bjornnyland 5 жыл бұрын
+rolicot Nope. Distance is correct but speed is incorrect. I have shown this in many cars many times in my videos.
@rolicot4229
@rolicot4229 5 жыл бұрын
@@bjornnyland Interesting. I know that speedometers overestimate by different amount, but the cases with gross overestimation that I have encountered were usually caused by worn down tires or low profile tires and the measured distance was way off as well. Fair enough, then just please keep verifying it on each car. I love your nearly scientific attitude, just wanted to make sure you don’t miss on that :)
@rolicot4229
@rolicot4229 5 жыл бұрын
P.S.: Some overestimation is always present by design (as a buffer for imprecision), so the corrective factor for speed is different than that for distance. Distance is usually better but sometimes still not exactly right. I’ve seen you mention distance check on some cars, I just wanted to remind you that it’s not always the case. Looking forward for more tests!

No, it will have the same cooling as the other 40 kwh Leaf. They call it passive cooling but I have never understood the term as the car uses the ac and cabin temperature to cool the batteries. I also think it uses a fan to do this. www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=22276

These are air cooled ..no liquid cooling like Tesla or Etron... probably bad long term for battery health. Probably not a good idea if you live in Arizona or the middle east or Spain or the equator.

There is no Rapidgate fix for eNV200, also for battery cooling system to work correctly, you must have the ignition on and the cabin heater off.... Terrible design, but a good van in every other respect

@michaeldawson6309
@michaeldawson6309 5 жыл бұрын
I just Googled and it says 199.6Km then says... Combine B-Mode and ECO-Mode to maximise the range of your Nissan e-NV200. ... Activate ECO-mode to limit engine output and save your Nissan e-NV200's 40kWh battery capacity.. and then goes on to say (124-189 Miles) that's a big deviation :-) Its also quoted as £21K + VAT for the model with fast charging capability.
@michaeldawson6309
@michaeldawson6309 5 жыл бұрын
Doing your Ninja math based on the 227Wh per km gives 179Km from a 40KWh battery, and then converted to Miles 109 that's really terrible :-( and the VAN was empty when you tested. EV's have a long way to go to be truly practical and cost effective IMO. Maybe in 2 years time for me. What it needs is a min of a 60Kwh battery to get 164 Miles or a practical maybe 130 miles 40Kw is way to small. My friend is a Plumber and has the Diesel NV200 and like most leaves his tools and stuff in the VAN so most of the time its being driven around say 50% loaded as most VANs used for site work are. Hence why I say 109miles is too low. As I expect this may drop to 80 miles that limits the range you can travel to jobs during the day without going to a charger. No it needs at least 130 miles range loaded.
