Why can't we buy these amazing cars in the United States. This is a real car that gets 54.29 mpg. We are stuck with cars that get 25-35 mpg.

Responsive engines are good, as turbodiesels are usually a bit laggy. I can out accelerate a 1.8 litre TDCI Ford Focus on a bicycle until the turbo spools up. It's also a pain getting it up the steep dirt track to my house as it feels like it just about trundles up there with a generous amount of throttle and then the turbo spools up and the wheels scuff in the dirt.
