I have a 2020 Rogue. I'm following your video for the update but when I get to putting the USB in my computer, I get the message my navigation system is not registered. How do I register it?

Robert, I got the same message that "devise is not yet registered" I went to car twice but still same message. How did you register your device. Going throught the steps in the car does not help. It leaves the tomtom file but still does not open update app.

Hi Robert great information, I used this when I purchased my new Murano in March, worked perfectly. Question for you: My GPS will not take you directly to the house address, it takes you to the street and then says you have arrived at your destination, but the house you are going to may be half way down the street. I have a 7 year old Garmin portable that takes me directly to the exact house number. Why won't my Murano GPS take me to the exact house number? Have you heard of this with any other Nissans?

What did you mean, have your car sync to house wifi 1st? How? And is this required for the Nissan site page to "identify" vehicle system? Also is the car running, or just accessories on while this is being done? Very helpful info 👍🏼

Hi Robert, I am living in Vancouver BC and I am trying to update my 2019 Nissan Qashqai map. I followed your instruction to save the map to a USB, then going to the weblink you noted, but I did not have the option to select which map to update, I only had the option to do the "Full Map Reset and Update" and it is for North America. After I finished downloaded the Full map reset & update to the USB - North America, when I plugged the USB to my car, the file was not recognized and I was unable to install the new map to the car. Any suggestions to help with this?

You did a 2017.04 update 9 in 2020. Should have actually clicked on Add-Maps and done Full Map Reset which would give you the 2020 or newer maps. Nissan's Map system is so poor that it won't update to the next year vi WIFI or USB unless you do a full map reset. I even got a brand new head unit (replaced last week) and it came pre-installed with the 2017 maps still. FYI

The map updates are listed as 2017. How is this a 2020 update?

hi Robert my 2018 kicks doesn't have the arrows to scroll through settings on the driver assist display, it just has left and right to change songs, what could be the reason and what do i do to access settings such as when to auto-lock the doors, sensors and stuff.

All the time my screen say that the sd card is no inserted and I remove it and work good but is continuing saying that is inserted do you know why

I just purchased a 2016 Nissan Maxima. I noticed it does not have an SD card installed which eliminates a lot of the features of the car and does not save any settings at all. Basically reboot at every start up. If I did what you do in your video, would it fix my issue?

Hi - Have you heard of the older 2016 plate Nissan Qashqai having issues with the firmware - apparently it's a well know problem and you have to do an install either with Nissan or at home - do you have a video of that and the files that are required? The symptoms of this are as follows. GPS system completely restarts for no reason. Stops playing music and radio for no reason. No sounds from the unit at all and then comes back to life.

At the 2:15 minute point of your video - it states Navigation Device NOT YET REGISTERED. In the video you say "make sure you go through the process to get this all Registered", and you make a comment at the 3:10 minute point of your video you state "and I am going to work through how to get this registered" *** but you don't explain how to do this or refer to another video on how to do this. Obviously you figured it out but didn't explain how you got it registered. I have no idea how you did this. Note: I have a wifi connection on my 2020 Nissan Rogue SV Tech & of course have a wifi connection on my home computer. I looked through the 168 Comments on your video and a number of other people had the same problem but nowhere have I found how to do this. *** "make sure you go through the process to get this all Registered" *** Also, I didn't know there was a limit of the car's Navigation System of 19.83 GB. Perhaps you may know how to increase this limit by purchasing more memory & replacing the memory chip that is currently in the vehicle. And if you can purchase a memory chip, how and where you would install it. Thank you for your help.

I have a 2018 Maxima and do not have the "System Information" option to take me to the map update process. Is anyone else finding this? I have Android Auto enabled; could this be inhibiting or overriding the process?

To clarify the description of this video, "If you own a 2018 Nissan or newer that no longer has an SD card" is trying to say "If you own a 2018 or newer Nissan that is not equipped with an SD card" then you can update its navigation system over wifi or USB. The 2018 LEAF is a car model equipped with an SD card slot that must have an SD card in it to work properly. I bought a LEAF that is missing the SD card. I saw this description and thought, "oh great! My '2018 Nissan no longer has an SD card' so this video will show me how to get it to work!" No.

Apparently free updates stop at 5 years. My 2018 stopped June 1, 2022 Maps in the car are all 2017.5 The PC app told me I needed a full system reset and update, 16GB, but it didn't work when I went to the car (downloaded fine ~4 hours) Then, looking at the App I found the June 1, 2022 stop date.
