Note has been a good car for me. No engine problems and 50mpg.

I've got it from 2017, i purchased a 1.4 cr14de with 135k km, no problem since 220k km, which start to consume oil, i use to change oil/filter each 10k km, good overral manteinance (i'm a mechanic). Other problem is little drips of water from rear screen and side trunk windows. Paint is good after all the years. No other problem faced with the engine, it drives smoothly with circa 18 km/L even if its consuming oil. The consumption is 400ml on 1000km Probably after some checks the problem are the valve seals

Rocker cover gaskets are also known for oil leaks 😁👍🏻

Nissan made lots of amazing cars, economy and very strong parts especially engine and gear which never break any one down on the roads , im buying Nissan since 2008 in 3 different countries with years of using they give 0 issues at all and still i love Nissan and forever and now i own 2011 note with 64 mile/gallon fuel :)

i have the one from 2006. Haven't had any problems till today, whatsoever.

Same here. Have an SVE 2006 since 2014, I've owned it 9½years. Best car I have ever owned. I've just installed cruise control on it, and it drives a dream.

I have a 2008 Nissan Note 1.4 petrol Acenta. Some of the problems I've had with it is it would start from cold great every time but once the engine warmed up and you parked it up, when you came back to the car it would turn over but not start until it had cooled right down. Turned out that it was the camshaft position sensor which I replaced. I also replaced the crankshaft position sensor and have had no problem starting hot or cold since replacing these parts. Engine and gearbox is very reliable although I do find that these engines do use an amount of oil so keep an eye on your oil level 😊. I have had a problem with the rear number plate lights not working which I thought was a bad fuse but all fuses were good so decided to change the bulbs which did end up blowing a fuse and knocking the driver side side lights off as well as the number plate lights. This fuse is an absolute pain to get to. It's in the engine bay and the fuse box is upside down with only a short amount of wiring going to it. You can however manage to turn the fuse box on its side to gain slightly better access to the fuses but it's not great and makes it a bit fiddly to do but it can be done. Last is the water leaking into the car when it rains, this is a very common problem with these cars. Mine has had the windscreen replaced but I still have water running down my brake pedal and filling the drivers footwell with rainwater. I have checked and cleared any drain holes so I know that isn't the problem. This is ongoing so any suggestions or information would be much appreciated 😊😊

Don't know if you got the leak sorted but I've got a 1.6 Note Tekna and I've found the problem flooding the front footwells to be the seal on high brake light on the back of the car. It floods the rear wells and when I brake the water moves to the front footwells. Because they are actual wells the water stays there and can go unnoticed for ages because by design the carpet doesn't touch the floor of the car. Also check the body work under the bonnet on the drivers side because they are prone to rusting there. Micras rust in the same place. Wouldn't hurt to take the door panel off as well and make sure the rain barrier isn't full of holes and the seals are still doing their thing.

@MrEvilWasp A quick update on the leaking rainwater into the front footwells. On closer inspection, I found that the 2 plastic rivets that hold the plastic scuttle panel in place and keep it sealed against the windscreen were missing and therefore not holding a tight seal against the windscreen. I refitted 2 new plastic rivets and there is no more movement and fingers crossed, there has been no more leaking into the footwells 😉👍🏻
