Have a 2014 Pathfinder SV with 210,000 miles and have had no problems. Still drive it 130 miles a day round trip to work. Had to replace AC Compressor at 200,000 in 2024. Love the vehicle

My pathfinder is 10k KM 2020 model 1st owner, I noticed CVT little shuddering issue since beginning, local nissan dealer insisted that this is normal! By time car went out of warranty, now shuddering is very clear. From my standpoint, Nissan Japan pushes dealers over the world not to expose those kind of issues to customers and so they used to them, till the warranty is end up. What a customer centric strategy!? One of my worst decision I've ever made to trust Nissan😢

I bought a 2018 model and haven't had one problem with it. When I bought it I made sure I bought it from a dealer like Tim Dahl Nissan that gives you a lifetime power train and transmission warranty though... since I heard they had CVT issues... but I haven't had CVT issues. I've actually taken it high in the mountains deer hunting and the 4x4 worked great, I've pulled a heavy trailer to a different state no problem, etc. I liked at a forerunner which has better clearance but they they get terrible gas mileage... like 18 mpg versus 27:on the pathfinder....

@@robacejr since I wrote this my struts went out at around $50k miles which is unbelievable for how low miles it has... but fortunately I bought the extended warranty which covered the $2k repair cost.

I have a 2014 Pathfinder. Had minor shudder issues and Nissan issued a recall to change the transmission. The new transmission didn't give any problem. It is my car for all the longer trips. I replaced fluids for CVT, transfer case, rear differential, power steering, brake myself at 82k miles. Just replaced rear brake pads yesterday for the second time at 89k miles. No issues and drives like a new car, except for water getting logged under the passenger floor. I found the leak was due to a small hole at the seam and it wasn't properly sealed. I have inserted plumbers putty in that hole and hoping that the water doesn't come in again. Had to replace the AC compressor after 9 years. The battery was changed once too. I towed a bit initially using the original tranmission which Nissan changes under recall processing anyway. I don't drive too hard. Just keep it reasonable. It will 11 years since I bought it and have driven all over USA. So ya, it demanded some repairs but other than that has been very comfortable. The resale value is terrible although.

Owned a 2014 SL since new and had the AC components replaced at 140k. Also replaced the radiator fan when one of the blades broke. 150 bucks on Amazon and really easy to swap. Other than that just normal wear items like battery, tires, and brake pads. Pretty reliable overall.

I had a full engine replacement on a 2017 Pathfinder. Fortunately i had it replaced by the dealership free of charge however for them costed $13000 AUD. Watchout for used Pathfinders and allways have warrenty IN WRITING! No other issues as i routinly maintain the vehicle.

Had an ‘18 Platinum. Nice, roomy until the CVT let go. Shuddering at slipping at 96k miles. 6 to 7 grand to replace. Dumped it for a ‘23. Much better.

I have the 2014 model..i have shown to many mechanics but no one was able to diagnose..problem is at the initial stages it feels like a jerk...some times that jerk lasts upto 5 secs...dont no what the problem is
@microbhai
@microbhai 23 күн бұрын
@@shabaz241 I am not sure on this but because Nissan was under a class action lawsuit and issued a recall to change the transmission (on mine at around 42k miles) why was it not done for you? And many others complaining. The new transmission never gave any shuddering issue. The jerk is basically the CVT belt slipping inside the CVT plates.

I have a 2015 model and so far I have had to replace the radiator fans, sun visors, and now I'm working on replacing the ABS module because the brake pedal sinks to the floor.

I bought this lemon in Saudi Arabia 2014 model in 2015. The car is okay generally other than the CVT shuddering and juddering that’s colossally unignorable. I felt something wrong with the transmission on my first drive out of the showroom. They kind of brushed it off with some lame comments. I hadn’t come across the transmission failures in 2013/14 models until quite late. The CVT transmission was reprogrammed several times with no benefits to alleviate the problem whatsoever. The dealer (reportedly) replaced the transmission assembly when it has clocked 40K KM or so when it was still under warranty. The same problem reoccurred after another 30-40K KMs. The dealer didn’t extend any warranty to the newly replaced assembly. The assembly replacement is priced at 32000 SAR that’s $ 8,500 plus labor that’s exorbitantly expensive for a utility vehicle like Nissan. Always be very cautious and researching whenever any dealer offers you discount. I fell into that trap too although I’m someone who researches quite deeply whenever I purchase anything over $ 1000 mark.

I am about to purchase the 2014 SV model (in Saudi Arabia). the previous owner told me that there was a recall from Petromin and that he paid 1800 SAR and had the transmission replaced (he paid for the labor). upon inspection, i noticed a new drops of oil at the bottom of the car. however, the inspection shop told me the gear is in good condition, but I need to check the gasket for leakage. I`m planning to do that in Jordan since it is cheaper. He`s selling it to me for 20k SAR. I would really love your thoughts on this. The car is soooo smooth to drive though.

While the transfer case issues exists, they are virtually eliminated if you change your transfer case gear oil every 30k miles. For a transfer case to fail that often and repeatedly is nearly statistically impossible. It sounds like there is a variable that is being repeated. Such as a mechanic not filling it with gear oil complete or at all, or used parts being used as replacement.

I have never hated a vehicle so much as my 2014 Pathfinder. No end of issues. Replaced transmission at 225km, unreliable 4 wheel drive has required multiple services, rear coils sag easily, latest issue is need of a new steering rack. Dont be tempted by a low purchase price.

2016 is very unreliable, there have been tons of reports of the catalyic converters going bad within 3 years, which is way too early for those kind of problems, the engines are very expensive to repair at all, due to the amount of sensors and computers in the vehicle, if one thing breaks everything breaks, the spark plugs also have been reported by thousands to have gone bad within 1 year of driving. I highly urge you buy an older vehicle, while technology is nice, it can make things very expensive and cause a lot more problems with your vehicle over time.

Define a bit more jerking and power loss? Explain to me as if I was a child, cuz I have a 3.5 '15 infinity qx60 that does some like that, when I'm at a steady pace it's fine, but while I'm accelerating it seems to jerk and the rpm's are just all over the place, I had put in a k&n air filter which I took off cuz some1 said it may be the issue. Put a regular 1 on it still does the same, so idk, if it's a trans issue I'll just get rid of it. Any advice? Thanks

Hi. I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum. It has worked great for us, as a family of 5. Now we are having another baby. 😊 My question is, is the middle seat( safety seat) in the second row removable? I just want it gone so the older kids can get in and out without putting the second seat down since a carseat will be there. Any help/advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
