We drive the 2021 Nissan Qashqai and see how this small SUV compares.
Is the 2021 Nissan Qashqai still a solid compact crossover to consider? Considered one of Nissan’s better SUVs to drive, the Qashqai competes squarely with the Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR and Mitsubishi ASX. But in the later years of this generation’s lifespan, should you buy a Qashqai?
Among the Qashqai range there are various models and permutations, including remarkably plush high end grades like the Ti tested here - but not everything gets better the more you spend.

It's good to see the Australian reviews with the motors we actually get rather than the Americans that always review the big motors we never get or the UK reviewers with the diesel we don't want.

What the significance of the stubby screwdriver, will it reappear in future editions of Chasing Cars a la the garden gnome in Amelie? I love it, little things like that while filming adds a little touch of humour in your super professional reviews. Keep up the top work guys!

We have a 2021 ti model. I absolutely love it i have no complaints about ours.

I do wish we would start getting the smaller turbo motors over here which are much "peppier" but I totally get why we don't, having just shopped for a new car with my dad and hearing him complain about how 1.8L is "too small" even though he only needs it to get him to the shops and back.

I wanted to like this but no rear air vents killed it for me. Car looks great on the outside though.

It has aged. Need a new gen out soon to compete with the recent competition. The screen is small and the interior looks a bit outdated. I’ll go for the seltos!

About as comfortable as an old western wooden wagon. And the materials are an affront to anyone with a sense of touch.

@@MasterCamus I travelled in an Uber. It seemed relatively new. The refinement and low speed harshness was below acceptable. I felt sick at the end of the trip!

It is interesting the trend of putting low profile, high performance wheels and tyres on these mediocre (ok, aweful) cars. To me those wheel specs are so uncompromising that they should stay with high performance cars where the owner is PREPARED to put up with the cons for the pros. A car like this looks strange to have low profiles? Not the only manufacturer doing this.

Bought a ST plus for my wife and she loves it. No mention of the 360 degrees camera which is unique to Nissan. The engine is OK for the car size and weight but if you put in an air charger, it makes the Qashqai a bit more preppy. Features-wise, it is great. Lane keeping assist, collision warning, reverse sensor, GPS, digital radio. Am not fussed about lack of Apple CarPlay because we don’t use the phone while driving except for taking calla. The only missing feature in the ST plus variant is the headlights auto sensor which is quite useful. Also not mention is the body panels feels more solid then cars made in Japan, South Korea or Thailand.

same here in Australia rear air vents are a must because these cars are made for small families summers in Australia especially in Queensland and NT can be very harsh

I drove one as a hire car and couldn’t find a good thing to say about it, other than the sense of relief when I handed it back. It would have been okay if it went back in time and existed 15 years ago. Shocking vehicle. Typical Nissan fare.
