The Qashqai I drove didn't rattle at all... Personally I think the interior feels overall much more welcoming and luxurious than e.g. a VW Tiguan. Especially the insulation of the engine is much better than the 1.5 Tiguan...which is very rough. Doors are of aluminium...the previous Mercedes C-Class I had also had aluminium doors, which feels different to steel doors.

Hopefully that means that these issues have been addressed. Interesting, I prefer the build of a Tiguan, but can respect having a preference for the Qashqai. It’s all about perceived quality. Aluminium is great, but I can feel a little off putting to some buyers just because it doesn’t feel so heavy.

Actually my impression too, rides better than Lexus LBX or Honda HRV ... not to mention quiter than both of them and cheaper.Also how better the interior is than Hyndai Kona or Tuscon ... only the Lexus has better interior and maybe Mazda.

Good honest review and critique. Most youtube car reviewers never point out the faults in fear of biting the hand that feeds them.

PHEW, that vid should have been 20+ mins but you spoke soooo fast I had to go back a couple of times to hear what you were saying. We had our hearts set on buying a Skoda to replace our horse float-pulling 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel (no more horses) which has been a fantastic vehicle for 13 years. So yes the Skonda ticked all the boxes except for the price and the seat height as my wife whose car it will be has an arthritic problem and the Nissan is just a little easier to get in and out of so we are buying the Ti version with all the bells and whistles.

My N-Connect DIG-T 1.3 is a mild hybrid-MHEV, they do them in the UK.

Amazes me they still use CVT people complain non-stop and the car companies just continue to put them in useless

TBH CVT works in some commuter cars like this, but I agree. I prefer the likes of a torque-converter myself.

My 2011 Merc B200 turbo has CVT and works seamlessly, but you can also use the paddles to change gear if you want.

It's a great engine, and you're incorrect - Mercedes co-developed it with Renault. It has more torque than its competitors and is really efficient.
