Another fine day on track. Here are some highlights of the day and a few close calls. Luckily no accident happened. I always leave a safety margin with the cars in front.
My 25GT-T may do better if I made change to any of the below:
I did 1:13 with a 70kg passenger so next time can go lighter
More practice with my lines
The car is using BC BR Gold coilovers which isn't anything special and it still a street car that get driven there with no change in setting on track.
Tyres are Hankook RS3 which are street legal semi, not full semi
Has air cond, audio, passenger seat, heavy bonnet, doors & boot and sound proofing and carpet etc
R34 GTT isn't a popular choice to use a track car as most people consider it too big and heavy but mine has a decent setup to provide balanced handling. RB25DET engine produces good torque with both the engine & drivetrain proven to be ultra tough & reliable. The car is definitely capable to do better times but I need to practice more to improve my apex lines to achieve 1:11 or 1:12. I did 1:13 with a passenger onboard plus my lap times are now consistent around 1:14 with less traffic so there is room to do better. Instructor drove my GTT and he did it in less than 1:10.
Cars included in this video are Mitsubishi EVO, Nissan S15, Honda EK Civic, Mazda NB MX5, R32 GTR, Toyota 86, BRZ & Honda S2000. Everyone had a great time and thanks again to JDM yard for organising this awesome event.
I hope to see more GTTs in action. Let me know if you like yours.
