Yeah you’d be surprised how many people aren’t aware of that. That’s why sometimes I’d have explanations with certain combos cuz not a lot of people know the trick to it

Bro this guide is excellent, if you don’t mind I want to add some cool stuff Nitara can do. Sideswitch combo: a higher dmg version can be done with 221 starter instead of 1212: 221~whiffed db4~12~db2~ ex bf2~jump forward~12~down forward air dash~242~bf2 ( = 410 dmg for a bar) I rarely for for the max dmg bf2 enders though as you have no oki afterwards. Optimals for good knockdown advantage is the 1212~jump forward~124~down forward air dash~jump 1~grounded s4~db2~db4 = around 340 dmg and you are +44

Sometimes I honestly forget she has the 221 string, my brain just autopilots to 1212 just cuz you can special cancel it to keep yourself safe, whereas if you mistime the 221 you get punished almost every time lol but yeah I personally almost end everything with divekick unless I know it’s gonna kill with bf2

@@mBountyHunter yeah i get it, I feel 221 has value as 22 by itself is minus 6 and actually has decent range as a starter. Standing 1 has poor range and can whiff like crazy against some moves so knowing when to use 2-starter does help

I thank you for this. The thing I apreciated the most, is the Kameo section. I really needed more Kameo guides, for having another one besides Kung Lao and Goro. I'm attached in God rank, and don't think i'm gonna reach elder god, but, at least, now my gameplay can be a little more beautiful. Thank you, bro ♥

In my personal opinion the Kameos should be more looked into rather than only the main character. They’re obviously important don’t get me wrong, but people don’t look at Kameos the same way they’d look at their main character which leaves A LOT of room for untapped potential. I even made a community post saying that the final recording was about 1h20m and MOST of that time was taking spent for the Kameos and the options they have

@@mBountyHunter They're a very important part of this game, and I love to watch them in very depth, that's why I loved that you dedicated a section of the guide to the best kameos for Nitara. I only had 2 kameos for her, and reducing it to 1, because I'm too bad using Goro. I'm planning on using Darrius! You inspired me, and I'm gonna try him this days.

@@SuperOogieboogie Darrius is very tricky since you sacrifice your neutral for him. Every hit matters cuz it has to setup into his hard to blockables, but once you get started it’s VERY fun

@@mBountyHunter for sure, by the way with her one bar combo you showed I found in the lab that if you don’t hit them at the peak of the db2 and think it will drop after the dfLT/L2 you can do 1,2,bf2 to catch them pretty consistently. It’s less dmg of course but it’s better than dropping

Also not bad cameo for nitara it’s Goro. Safe on block, + grap launcher, and you can make combo from F434. Sometimes I saw, Motaro with Nitara, but I don’t understand for what he needs for Nitara.

I just didn't mention it just because I couldn't convince myself to use him. For what you gain with Goro, you can do something relatively similar with other Kameos without sacrificing 50 health for it, but that's just my opinion of course.

Motaro gives her easy high meterless dmg from any starter using teleport. Big win here you can get full combos from her armored reversal ex bf1. Any gap you expect can turn into an easy 25% dmg Kung lao can do the same but you have to hold his teleport instead to land a jump in punch (you need the jump in punch because normal Lao teleport is too slow to combo after bad breath) Structure works like this: Starter~bad breath~ teleport~1212 launcher into full combo Lao is 100% her best kameo because it doesn’t debuff her health like Motaro while giving you teleport conversions, low hat setups, a zoning tool, a meterless reversal (spin)

@@sammythijs8641 With the recent buff to his low shot making him plus on block, he actually becomes a decent option now. He already had decent tools as it was, he just needed a few changes. If you wanna be more of a pressure/aggressive Nitara player I would consider looking into Motaro, but if you want a more well rounded/balanced option Kung Lao will always be there for that as well

@@mBountyHunter yeah the buff to low shot is great but the health debuff on a low health character remains a tough pill to swallow for me. The reflect also makes her a bit less of a sitting duck fullscreen but Sareena / Lao still offer better neutral tools with neutral health and a meterless reversal on top of that.

Paused video after the normals ended, so forgive me if this comment is covered later. I'm glad you covered that you can't dive kick after db2 "leap of faith" because it's really frustrating that the tool tip says it can be canceled into air specials. Which as you showed can only happen if you hit confirm. However, you can meter burn the dive kick after db2 without a hit confirm. Which is good to know as well. This is also works the same way if you try to use "quick taste" bf2. Won't work without a hit confirm unless you meter burn. Additionally, it seems almost pointless to ever meter burn db2 leap of faith. No real benefit. The only difference there is instead of being forced to fall to the ground before being abe to take actions Nitara can do normal attacks to do a normal air string like 124 and continue to convert. Very niche and not usually worth meter. Still, good to know how it works. A meter burned leap that wiffs could potentially be followed up by a kick or punch that could convert. Most of us probably do a regular db2 then use an air dash (which will cost meter too) and then go for the conversions from that. Which is almost always gonna be better than meter burning db2 for positioning and such. HOWEVER, (lol) if you meter burn db2 and follow with air dash then that air dash does NOT cost meter. These interactions are honestly weird and convoluted. Essentially on a wiff, you can choose if you want to meter burn a db2 at the start, or use meter for an air dash to stay on the air; or vice versa normal db2 then air dash to stay in the air. Either way it is one bar meter. My point here isn't to show any kind of tech or anything just to understand how the mechanics work. The way it does or doesn't use meter on an air dash depending on whether you did or didn't use meter for the db2 is confusing af. The fact the game says "can be canceled into air specials" when it's only true if it is on hit or if you meter burn the air special is also confusing af. I'm gonna shut up now and continue watching the video that i have been waiting to see.

It’s all good don’t apologize for it, you’re just sharing your thoughts lol I’m pretty sure the meter thing involving db2 is a bug or maybe the game still considers you airborne for a certain amount of time even though the moves animation is already over which causes it to happen? I’m not too sure, it’s just a theory I have, also I’m glad you’re enjoying the video so far :D

I usually db2 into dive kick when you hard read a projectile. If it lands you can go into most of her routes

@@mBountyHunter hell yeah. Also just in case you didn’t know you can always ad plus frames to any sting where you can finish with a down air dash 2 overhead. Good for knowledge checking and mixups

I recommend all Nitara players experiment with db2ex. It's a lot of fun. I've been using db2ex (Enhanced Leap of Faith) a lot more recently. I once thought it was just a waste of meter. If used as an Anti-air you can start your air combo strings in the air (or anything else). But what it's really nice for is special canceling into it from the normal strings. This allows Nitara to side switch (or air dash back to switch back) and attack with her overhead 2 and land into a normal string like anything else. Or you can air dash for evasion or fun lol. Using meter to burn db2 is the easiest way to air dash after you leap of faith. You can still air dash with a regular db2, but you'd have to almost dial in the air dash, where using meter your timing is when you're in the air. As I hinted at in last comment these interactions aren't easily conveyed with words. But learning this I'm able to open a new door to Nitara's mobility. But I was wrong in my last comment. There is benefit in db2ex. And it's a lot of fun to start combos in the air after using it. Swaggy variations.

@@dior6519 those 2 are very tricky to fight up against. Omni-man you just have match their aggression and also be aware of when they have meter to armor through your gaps or wakeup on you. Subzero forces you to slow down because of clone, so your best bet is to get a life lead and let HIM come to YOU and force his mistake

@@boblstreame The ONLY advantage I can think of is that Motaros teleport is much faster than Kung Laos, but other than that, there’s really not much. Motaro is pretty much a worse version of Kung Lao imo

whats your opinion on a jax kameo? seen some ppl saying its good but i really like this guide and i wanna see what you think. seen people say the unblockable ground slam helps w opening up the opponent.

I would definitely say it helps a little bit, but it’s not enough compared to others. The reason I put Kung Lao for example as her best Kameo is because even when she’s not in close range, you can still use the low hat from a distance and slowly chip away at life. Jax is good when you actually GET the hit, but until then you’re just kinda sitting there hoping for an opening. I can try him out though and see what I find

Jax gives you 100hp, setup with his ground punch and higher combos dmg(1bar-458). But he will not help you with opening opponents. Anyway, I'm using him now and I have a lot of fun.

It’s tricky because of the zoning Havik has, but his armor is weak, so if you pressure him a lot and don’t give him space. He struggles a lot

Technically all the combos in this game aren’t the same because of the different healths characters have. Try using the same exact characters/dummy I have in my video and see if it’s the same :D

When doing 124 how do u get the dash to come out and when I do I never land 242 any tips please help !

When you do Air 124, think of the air dash as a special move. You want to do your Air 124, and when she does the final kick, do the dash and do Air 242. Hope that helps :D

Im new to mk in general, i played khotal khan a bit in mk11 but was never very good. I dont understand how you are actually supposed to get good at this game, i wanted to use nitara but her inputs are insane. Repetition doesnt seem to be doing it, even the combos in the tutorial i cant do. Do i need to try an easier character?

As long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters. If you feel that Nitara is really fun to use and you like how she feels then you’ll learn and get good naturally. But, if you’re serious about getting good relatively quick, I can give you a few tips that’ll help

@@mBountyHunter I really do want to get good, but I don't have any friends that paly it haha so no one to teach me. I try to play for a little bit everyday to stay fresh, but the combos are insane. I don't know if it's the timings or what, any advice you can give would be appreciated.

@@Nova_Jan My suggestion to you as a beginner is to keep things simple. As cool as it is to do all these crazy combos and stuff like that, keeping it simple is what will win you games. Have 1-2 combos that you consider your "go to" and work from there. Getting your anti airs as well helps a lot because if you can get an additional 10% whenever someone jumps on you, it adds up over time. I was actually thinking of making a video series/guide talking about to get good at fighting games, so this timing is actually good lol

@@mBountyHunter Maan that would be amazing. No one makes guides for new to fighting game players. And yea I see how sticking to one combo is the best. Should I stay with nitara? I was thinking about ashara or Baraka, they don't have many in air combos (my main struggle).

@@Nova_Jan If you like how Baraka and Ashrah feels then go ahead, but if you're only choosing them because they're good then long term it'll create problems y'know. Definitely have a secondary character you also enjoy playing when you have those moments when you wanna try something different
