Dear Nitecore, I absolutely love the TIP. I have at least 5 of them and it’s easily the most used light I own. I bought a copper and regular TINI and here’s the problem. I never use the TINI because of that stupid switch. I was so excited when I saw this TIP2 but not anymore. I hate, hate, hate holding the switch down to turn on the TINI. When I want light, I want it NOW. Not in a moment. “Hey, what was that noise. Hold on a couple secs, I’m waiting for my light to turn on”. Scooby and the gang would be really disappointed too. The bad guy would always get them. Lockout is much better then a momentary switch. I guess I’ll wait for the TIP3

A bit of case protection at the corners and a lock for the tail would make it more durable if dropped and help prevent accidental separation. Just my two cents...

Is the TIP SE the latest upgrade to the TIP2? I am assuming so because the SE uses a USB-C which seems to be an upgrade from micro usb although not necessarily so.

it look like the indicator lights woul be 1,2,3, and then they decided not to use 3 leds or cant, and then just kept the body design and when to a flashing indication instead.

I do likethe Nitecore line but they shouldn't have changed to micro USB versus the new more reliable and versatile standard of USB-C which they have on the TIP SE 700. USB Type-C is more flexible and faster than micro USB. What would be a great feature is to be able to use the battery in the flashlight to provide emergency power which the USB-C standard could provide. i.e. cell phone
@NitecoreStore3 жыл бұрын
This is actually an older model. The Tip came out, then Tip 2017, then Tip 2, then Tip SE. I know, I always complain about how our naming is not very intuitive. For the foreseeable future I think they will only be releasing lights with USB-C charging.

Do you have to hold the turbo button to use it again ? It seems like you have to on the demo
@NitecoreStore5 жыл бұрын
That's correct. Turbo is a "burst" mode which requires you to press and hold the mode button to access it.

@@NitecoreStore maybe pass along this suggestion to the people in whichever country make the new designs, it would be awesome if nitecore and all other flashlight companies finally see the "micro usb" port is on its way out, seriously ever heard of this new thing called usb-c? people dont want to carry numerous types of cables with them!
@benbraceletspurple91085 жыл бұрын
there is a space issue with the type C. plenty of tech still runs micro, so I can't blame nitcore here. @@tubevideoguy762

@@benbraceletspurple9108 ok maybe on this flashlight since its very tiny the extra one millimeter of usb-c would have been an issue. i was just saying in general why aren't there WAY MORE options being made that do have it? If somewhere between 70-90% of new lights on the market had the port that would make total sense to me.

How long does the turbo mode stay in turbo? And is it a timed step down or regulated by heat? I held off buying the TUP hoping you could do better, this seems like it has all the right upgrades. Time to retire my tried and true TIP 360?
@BluestedSRT45 жыл бұрын
I just received mine, Turbo stays on for as long as you hold the button, there is no constant on with step down like the TiP 2017. It is temperature regulated so I assume it will step down if it gets too hot.

I love you Nitecore, but this is more of a TIP1.5 than a actual 2.0. The jump from 200 lumens to 720 is too drastic both on necessity and battery life. Why not add a 400 or 500 lumen mode in between? The color temperature is pretty close to CRi levels, but do you plan to release one? Thank you Nitecore!
@benbraceletspurple91085 жыл бұрын
3.5x lumens is a typical jump, and after 5 minutes it wont be able to turn on that bright anyways.

Hello there. When I put it in turbo mode it works for 1 or 2 seconds and turns off. It does not work for a long time. How can I solve the problem?
@NitecoreStore4 жыл бұрын
Hey Do It Yourself, it could be two things, 1) The Tip 2 can be programmed into daily mode, or demo mode. In demo mode, the light automatically turns off after a set amount of time. You can refer to your instruction manual to see how to change modes. It is also on the nitecorestore website. 2) You could be accessing momentary turbo, where if you hold the mode button past a second, it turns off when you release the mode button. If either of these cases seem unlikely, please email us at support@nitecorestore.com and our customer service team here in Austin, Texas will get to you as soon as possible.

Doubled the lumens but cut run time in half ... no thank you. I’ll spend $40 + on upgrade from my couple of TIPs when TIP 2 has same run time WITH double lumens.

0:32 an impressive 720 lumens TURBO rivals the brightness of flashlights twice this size? LMAO. There are flashlights in 2019 SMALLER than this with 1500-2000 lumens. I reall like Nitecore designs but they are sorely underpowered compared to the competition.

In my opinion this is a downgrade from the last Tip. No CRI version, weird UI, higher pricing, and brightness levels are not to my liking. A 720 lumen turbo mode pressing the button, no thanks. A 500 lumen turbo would have been more than enough. I'll take a Tip Cri over this any day.
