My love of music knowledge comes from this - every Sunday in the early 80s's I sat religiously to see what was No. 1 in USA

This show brought so much joy on Sundays as young teenager in the mid to late 80's love the local plugs for the local "Dublin" scene ;)

God bless Vincent Hanley RIP, he was one of my fav. DJ's on RTE Radio 2 when it opened on May 1979. I remember MT USA so well, watched it for 3 hours on a crap ITT 20" TV in my boarding school (St Mary's Galway) from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday in my leaving cert. year 1984. I remember the our parents of that time complaining and whining about MT USA distracting their kids from their studies, what little worries they had then, compared to the parents of today with cyber bullying, drugs, etc!

Great memories from the 1980s. I still have several videos from that era that I had converted to DVD before the videos became too damaged!! Even have LIVE AID the RTE/BBC coverage from that era also.

Oh I loved this program. It introduced me to Susanne Vega, Bruce Hornsby and the Range to name but a few! I used to have my little tape recorder right beside the telly and record the songs! Oh happy times!
