In the run-up to Independence Day, Moneycontrol’s Kayezad E. Adajania caught up with Nithin Kamath, founder and chief executive officer of Zerodha, India’s largest brokerage house. Kamath started trading in equity shares from a young age of 17. But inexperience, stock mark volatility and debt didn’t deter him from toiling hard to eventually become debt-free. In 2010, he and his brother Nikhil founded Zerodha, which today has become India’s largest stock brokerage house in India.
In this video, Kamath talks about:
- How he achieved his financial freedom
- Why excessive and unnecessary debt can financially ruin you
- Why it is more important to make money work for you, than just earning money
- Why it is important to acquire skills to be truly financially independent

Excellent interaction My take aways: 1. You will never get financial freedom by fulfilling materialistic goals 2. There is no end to fulfilling materialistic goals 3. Stop spending materially 4. Start spending on experiences 5. Start spending on learning & learn from the best

But these people will always tell you that once they have received all those material goals and enjoyed that luxury to the fullest. Then they start spreading philosophy.

Very Insightful. In a world where notifications are popping up everywhere to make you feel guilty for not buying useless stuff. It is more than necessary today to feel content. Being an Aggarwal, this culture runs thru our community. It just got lost in translation and people made stereotypes by labelling us "KANJOOS" 😁

Haha I agree, but someone in our community go overboard trying to save every dime over things which makes us look cheap.

Will Nitin Kamat explain why client's of zerodha are being subjected to losses by introducing Nudge like feature. Further more under the garb of open interest limits they are even prohibiting client's to buy a hedged call or put although it is there in black & white in support portal article's that if someone sell some option then there will be no open interest limit applicable to buy hedge in any OTM option. Request money control to please ask Mr. Nitin Kamat or some responsible functionary of Zerodha to address the issue.

My notes 1. Start at early earning and invest 2. Spend on experiences than material things. 3. Be content and have enough money to be with you through your life style 4.investing in yourself you should start quickly 5. Take risks at early, each of the new things you learn somehow helps you get better personally. And overtime has a compounding effect 5. Investing in stocks is the only way to beat inflation 6. Making money is not enough make money work for you 7. Never keep money lying in savings Bank account 8.find as many different ways to make money work for you ie stocks, mutualfunds 9.if you are good at something money will come eventually ie have some skills 10. Invest in business 11. Being debt free has been top most priority to me and my business ,having peace of my mind is important 12. It's okay to borrow money to upskill yourself 13 . India real estate may reamain subdued for another decade

The Lord Jesus is coming again...His acts of love for you are enough for you to be saved before it's too late. He sacrificed His life for you (died and rose again for you) and this sacrifice was made for all future generations...and to be saved today, you must believe in your heart this truth of Christ and confess with your mouth His lordship over your life, in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Don't mix religion and pleasure 😁. Discussion is on wealth creation, not on some discussion on Middle Eastern madness, which killed most of the tribes across the world like wildfire. Overzealous evangelists rooming around the world to find new converts, eventually giving new diseases, eventually colonialism. And still the "loves you", "saves you", crap haven't ended.
