I have watched many concerts on KZfaq that I wished I could have been there. This is especially one of them. I am not sure that if I mentioned Nitin Sawney, most would not know who he is. A very underrated musical genius.

Nitin is such a ridiculously gifted musician. Envy isn't pretty, but I can scarcely help myself. I'm a not too shabby musician myself, but he just blows me away! I saw him at the Blackheath Conservatoire of Music just after Prophesy came out. It's a tiny little building, and there were tables set up with candles etc. It made a small venue feel even more intimate, and he was outstanding. I had a chance to have a chat with him after the gig about music, and some politics (of all things) and he was sickeningly nice and friendly, as well as hugely talented - sick making haha! Just got to ask though...what on EARTH has Natacha Atlas had done to her lips??? A trout pout doesn't look good on anyone, especially a singer when your focus is often on their mouth. I generally rather like her and have a fair few albums, but she should have stayed home sick for this concert as she kind of brought the energy level down. There's no way on earth I would sing with tonsilitis as there's too much danger of over compensating and hurting your vocal chords, best to just rest your voice. However, I had to sing at a crowded wedding in a large church many years ago, and I had the beginnings of laryngitis and couldn't bow out, so I used a numbing spray for the back of my throat to get me through a quick rehearsal with the organist and then the performance. After that I didn't say anything else for the rest of the day. Anyway, sterling gig. Ashwin was the real stand out for me. Fantastic vocals...but oh my, his flute playing was phenomenal.

Nitin Sawhney also done a performance in 2006 for BBC Electric Proms. It is in a more intimate setting and looking back, looks like a rehearsal for this bigger, bolder event. I have it ripped in WMV if anyone wants. Not the greatest quality (400x224 @ 64kps) but more than happy to share
