Hi Nitin, really enjoyed watching this. I totally agree with you: the first step to a successful painting is the elimination of fear. When we are afraid of ruining something, that fear runs from our brain to our arm and straight into the painting. I have noticed that my best work is the work that I am not emotionally invested in; I have no expectations from it, its just meant to be a quick exercise, just playing with paints, and I'm totally relaxed because I'm not out to create a masterpiece. And before I know it, its turned out to be fairly good! Please can you do a video on your out-n-about watercolour kit? What do you take with you when you go out to sketch/paint? This is the area I struggle most with: keeping a sketchbook and regularly painting in it. I never paint when out and about, because I only go out for a purpose, eg grocery shopping, picking the kids up from school, etc. I never got into the habit of going out just to paint. What do you carry with you? Your own chair? A water container? I'd love to see a video on how you manage it. Many thanks.

Every day is the key I think. I wish I could. On holiday somewhere it is easy and fun. I always bring my little painting book and do a little every day. A friend set himself a task of doing one sketch/watercolour wash every day for a month or so. Didn't matter how brief or what the subject so long as he filled in another page.I have started keeping my travel paint box and a water bottle handy when I am watching tv.

I really sympathies with those whom get discourage when they paint and feel that they're painting is not up to par or just doesn't look good at all. With me I even fear beginning a painting. I have such trepidation just to start a piece because of concern of it not coming out the way I hope. Yet watching this man paint inspires and encourages. I notice that he is very loose in his approach and style. The thing is to not be so focused on what may or may not come out correct. It's simply most prudent to just do!!! Yes just go for it with an attitude that no matter what I will start this painting and I will finish this painting and I will do my very best to just enjoy the process. Because if I for example am painting yet I'm not enjoying myself then why am I even bothering? Right? So I'd you decided that you want to paint it's because it intrigues you, there's something that draws your interest to the art form and there are as.many different styles as there are specks of sand on all the beaches of the world. What I'm saying no painting is bad, if you've endeavored to take a brush and paint then you already are ahead of the masses that won't ever even attempt to do so. Just go in with a relaxed mind set, don't place any info pressure on yourself and remember your doing this because you love art, and you simply want to explore the art form. You don't have to be a Rembrandt your first painting. Simply continue no matter what and I promise you with all that I am you will see a vast improvement over time. Yet don't let that be your focus, that concern of needing to be great. No enjoy the process, enjoy the journey as it were. The blank canvas is your play ground and you create what is in your heart and soul. It can't be bad if it's coming from a place of love for the art in and of itself. Relax and enjoy the ride and you will get better simply by painting on a regular basis. It's like any muscle, you must exercise it to make it stronger. If anyone needs any encouragement please reply to this comment. I am thinking about making a video about painting myself but I am feeling out the waters to see if there is enough interest.
