Usually I carry the bare minimum to survive. I go to high tier loot try and get my self an Aug and Svd, a cool outfit and just explore looking for action on official servers.

Building the stick shelter by a pine gives the added benefit of lighting campfire any time of day at the base of the tree with no tell tale smoke plume.

Hand wraps and a knife are the absolute first things I look for when I spawn. Also make sure your hand coverings are not ruined when cutting up animals. I’ve made the mistake of sliding down a ladder with hand wraps on and ruined them, I ran 4 km near death before I got tetra.

You can also sharpen small stones on boulders to make a stone knife. Hardest part is actually finding the small stone though lol. Trade it for a better knife later though as it has bad durability and breaks quick.

You need a knife or blade to cut an animal for the bones to make a bone knife.

The only ones i didn't know was the leather backpack and the stick shelter, the shelter might have some use for me...

If you want a faster way to make a fireplace just light the bark you don't have to combine anything.

Over the last 10 years I've dealt deeply into video games, my latest addiction over the last few years is a heavily modded fallout 4, I have however, been looking at this game and escape from tarkov. The fact that this game at least incorporates these skills as part of the process of surviving, I find exceptionally intriguing.
