Had to say THANK YOU! 2021 Z18 and just did my own install per this video! Drilling 4 3/4" holes sucked but it was nothing compared how much it sucked to install those pumps .. but it all worked TY for the best video by far on this install!

Thanks, was a fun project. Just a Update on my install, I have had no issues at all. Was worried about the 3/4” holes but have had no cracking or leaking what so ever. All The brass nuts I did retighten a few months later.

These will drain the battery speaking from experience my dealer installs with a perko standard just FYI guys. Great install video thank you for the details.
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Yeah mine is now hooked to a perko. But my boat stays plugged in to the charger at all times. Didn’t run a perko on my last boat with poles but would take almost 2 months of not running the boat for it to drain the battery enough where it wouldn’t start.

Also, this is the first video where the hydro hoses are not blue and black plastic that are meant to be cut to size. I wonder why PP changed them? I guess mine will be like yours. Wish my 2019 z18 had a jack plate, or else I’d probably be doing this same install. Doesn’t look that bad. And the poles just makes a boat look complete lol
@boydsfishinglife31022 жыл бұрын
You can do the install without a jack plate. You just use different brackets. Yes I agree not only are the pole functional but they do make a boat look more complete lol
@jasonclark6252 жыл бұрын
@@boydsfishinglife3102 I wonder what bracket. I thought I’d have to drill in the boat to make them fit without a jp. Looks like I’ll have to look into it more. Also great video man
@boydsfishinglife31022 жыл бұрын
Actually it is a little bit cheaper as you don’t have to buy the adapter for the jackplate. The brackets on your would use sandwich between the hull and motor. (No drilling)

I just went from the black and blue lines to the new 2.0 PP. I'm right there w you on the 3/4 holes. Thats a big azz hole. Are the grommets on the lines water tight? Thanks for the video
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was not happy with the size of hole I had to put in my boat, but with that said I have not had a single issue (yet) with water getting through or spider cracking.

Awesome diy. How long did the process take you all by yourself? Also, why the blades over the pro 2 series? I'm looking to buy my first ever set and blades are rather expensive!! Do you have any experience with the pro 2 series and can I be equally happy with them and save a few hundred dollars? Thanks
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Had the pro 2’s on my old nitro and honestly I just like the way the blades looked. I believe the blades to be lighter and mor durable. Also have option like drift paddles and mounted anchor lights. Took me about 2.5 hours start to finish and that was filming also.

can you stop them mid way down to get in/out garage?

Looking to install 2 poles on my tr 186 triton. About the same size as your boat. Any problem with hole shot or water coming over the transom when you slow down. Thanks in advance.
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Holeshot didn’t seem to change much and no more water over the transom then what was there before. Biggest thing to check is make sure your not to deep in the water with the brackets. Nice thing is these are adjustable.
@rooseveltjohnson99983 жыл бұрын
2 more question. How does your boat sit in the water. Does the Bow sit up high out the water. Did it change the water line around your rear of boat. Thanks in advance.

@@boydsfishinglife3102 2 more questions. Did it change how high your Bow sticks up out of the water. Did it change the water line on the rear of your boat. Thanks in advance
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Didn’t notice any bow rise or water level change. The brackets and poles are really light. 1 battery weighs more then the poles, pumps, brackets, and fluid combined
@tennesseeboys95482 жыл бұрын
What was your speed after the poles
@boydsfishinglife31022 жыл бұрын
With the 150 prosx, 6” bobs hydraulic jackplate I lost 1 mile per hour. Top speed now is 61mph cruses with two people and tournament load at 57-58 mph.

Does your garage have a7’ height?
@boydsfishinglife31023 жыл бұрын
Yep 7’. A little lower with the lip of the garage door. They clear coming out but if they didn’t I could lower them with the key fob.

@@boydsfishinglife3102 stupid question, but do they clear backing into the garage?

Sorry just seen your comment. I thought the same thing when I bought my first set of poles. But that which don’t give will break. They are meant to be flexible. Powepole has put out some great videos testing these in white water rapids and it’s pretty impressive to watch.
