Fun story: I was beating this game 100% recently with my brother. Near the end we joked "I bet the true ending is going o be creepypasta thing, there will be a bunch of empty levels with a hiperrealistic Croc". Of course the last three levels are empty levels made us think that our creepypasta was going to become true...

The Trophies from each world can be spent in any worlds trophy door, so you might have spent the 5 Cossack (ice) world trophies somewhere else. There is probably a level in a different world that you dont have a trophy for. Or your disc is rekt

Hey Nitro Rad, I actually 100% completed this game, and sorry to say but as soon as you get the all the eggs it just goes to the credits, no special or alternate ending exists. This is where I mentioned on the previous video that this game might have been unfinished/rushed. Actually the Gameboy color 100% ending for croc 2 was just this ending without the Baron Dante ending. (I own the Ps1 games plus thier gamboy color counterparts)

Maybe instead of a puzzle, we can call it a tactical.... er, environmental.... Good lord no wonder there's no name for this kind of thing this is hard, dude. That being said, if you can come up with a catchy name for it, James, you could probably be able to make it into a widespread term, seeing as you have a sizable audience as is.

I was shocked seeing the "life savers" product placement, in the PAL version they were just different colored jellys. Bouncing of the jellys looks more natural too, so I guess this was pretty much a last second change.

The definition of Puzzle noun 1. a game, toy, or *problem* designed to test ingenuity or knowledge. I’d say a boss fight that requires more thinking than simply punching it to death can absolutely be classified as a puzzle.

You're really not missing much without the secret levels, they're copies of the main hubs but replacing NPCs with Dantinis and each door takes you to a mini level where you get a crystal. Get all crystals and the egg appears in the hub, get all 3 eggs and the game just... cuts to the same fast credits but this time they say "Congrats, it's 100%!". No cutscenes, you almost can't even read the message because of how fast the credits roll, it's kinda hilarious. I gotta say you're like the only one I've seen who gives this series a fairly positive review, I grew up with the first game and even though I know it's flawed it's refreshing to see someone get the good of it out there. Good job!! :D

Croc 2! Me and my brother loved this game! Had the PC version. Let's see, I remember liking the music in the second and forth world. We liked the noise the gobbos made. There's a forth world level where you put baby gobbos into cribs and I remember finding the level unsettling. Also, there's this one (jungle?) level where the music sounds like an instrumental of one-hit wonder "Coco Jumbo" by Mr. President. I always thought that was cool.

Ok so you've covered most of the 3D platformers I remember from my childhood. Kao the Kangaroo, Rayman and Croc were pretty big here in Poland in early 2000s. I remember like two more games getting any sort of recognition. Sammy Suricate could make for a good video I would imagine. It's basically a puzzle platformer and I mean it - the levels are basically giant puzzles. The other one is called "Modi i Nanna" ... but I don't think I could recommend it because it's never been released outside of Poland and even here it's not really renowned. Also because there's apparently a bug making the game absolutely unbeatable.

I was waiting for this follow up of the Croc 1 video, very nice once more! What is curious is that for some reason they made the PS1 version more "difficult" than on PC because PC players start with 6 Hit Points instead of 3 while all the level mapping and object placement is pretty much the same thing. There is one missing music on PC version and some song swaps too. Other interesting element is the Gummy Savers use in North American copies, the European versions still used Jellies like in the original game. Despite of the many improvements I have a slight preference on the first game as I found it generally more challenging. Croc 2 was still pretty enjoyable in any way. As for the Game Boy Color games, I would personally advice to stay away from the GBC port of Croc 2 which is disastrous, the first one was rather ok.

But I wished he reviewed other games then anything that is licensed (Disney or rugrats) and tried some hidden gems like, medal of honor, Einhänder, Alundra. Or some obscure platformers. The ps1 do have a lot of them. But it's just my opinion.

You really aren't missing much with the hidden world. The Hidden World is just going through the normal levels again but on a sort of "Hard Mode" thing and the hub worlds have enemies in it. I did some research and apparently the game was rushed out and a lot of stuff kinda shows it, the last world only has 2 levels, the hidden world just has a text "to be continued" thing, and there are signs of more worlds that didn't make it in going by the Gobbos' costumes on the back of the manual.

Rescuing the eggs is exactly what the secret world is, and it's very underwhelming. You just go through each hub world again -- except for the last one -- and find one colored gem in each stage to unlock a cage in the hub world that's holding the egg. I assume the last world wasn't included because it only has three stages, and there are five colored gems. There's not even a bonus ending, it just rolls the credits again once you collect the final egg.

You didn't really miss much with the secret island. Yeah, you get some extra levels to recover the eggs from Lord Dante, but it doesn't have a new final boss, nor any cutscenes at the end when you get all the eggs, just a "Congrats! You completed the game 100%, is this the end of the story? Just wait and see!", so ending the saga with the cute cutscene between croc and both his biological and adoptive parents was a much better way than just a text screen. Also to add insult to injury, the 100% ending text scrolls just as fast as the regular credits.

The shading on that Croc CGI model has weird lighting to it, he looks like he’s crying a cartoon teardrop on a small mobile thumbnail.

Caddicarus’s review of this game just seems incredibly lazy compared to this. I also like that Nitro Rad actually *reviews* the game instead of just complaining about it and shaking the screen while making funny noises.

I do like Caddicarus, but I have to agree his Croc 2 review is one of the worst. I started playing it proper on original hardware, and there isn't even a delay on the jump button.

I like to use the term ‘Environmental Boss Fights’ to describe those types of boss fights.

I like that Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Cars 3 made the exact same "life's a beach" pun.

Thank you so much... I had distant memories of playing a challenging but fun game on a computer (probably an emulator) with my much older cousins when I was five. I remembered a shop with lifesavers, goofy furball characters, and an awesome squid boss. I recently found your channel, and I'm trying to binge some of your 3D platformers. I saw this one and decided to check it out. Little did I know that I was going to find the nostalgic wonder that I had been searching for for years. Seriously, thank you Nitro Rad. I'll have to emulate this...

Little did NitroRad know, he gave an idea for a Mario 64 hack. One that would create challenge playthroughs that would be tough to the bone.

I wish this had been on Dreamcast. Probably would have played it a lot back in the day.

My copy of Croc 2 was for the Gameboy Color. I actually won it as a home-player for Video & Arcade Top 10. Funny enough, I actually sent in my letter for the art wall, so when I received a package with a game in it I was pretty happy! I don't think there was a taped episode that aired with me as the home player though. My only hope is if I can ever find the series uploaded online, but chances of that are slim. :(
