Well, on the bright side he only said "好きだよね" which translates to(source google) "you like it, right?". The "It" which can be referring to me(私) or him/her(彼/彼女)(depends on the context of your conversation) didn't really specify who cuz he didn't say me or him in the sentence. So, at least the girl didn't know that he was actually talking about her liking him and not his friend. Otherwise, it would be way more embarrassing....... and cringe😆

Astel pretty much confirmed this. His experiences as a de-facto high school idol informed his choices as a Holostars member. He decided early on to sell entertainment, not love. He saw the consequences of what it did to girls first-hand, and he didn't want to see any more girls cry.

He was talking about his streaming career on that occasion and he was scared to ask pretty much anybody not just girls that's why he was only doing collabs with his Holostars mates at that time. If I have to assume it was probably because of his insecurity (He also always said that he has a weak mentality) with his numbers on streaming that he felt he wasn't big enough to ask other streamers to do a collab with him and by the time he probably just shook it off and just do what he actually wanted and thus he unleashed his real character Also other proof of this is when he talked about Coco's graduation, he felt that he doesn't hold enough power and courage (because of his insecurity of his numbers) to even properly say goodbye to her directly who was his own work mate and the person he always looked up to.

Alongside what rythm sync said, the state of Holostars for a long while was very bad. They were isolated from the outside because they were idols, and they were isolated from Hololive because they were male. The first collab with anyone outside didn't even happen until close to Miyabi's first anniversary. Essentially, confidence with day-to-day interactions does not equate to confidence as a streamer interacting with another streamer while also navigating their fanbase. He wasn't great with non-Holostars guys either, it was just way worse with girls due to everything that could go wrong. He didn't just have his own reputation but Holostars' reputation as a whole to think of. Their reputation wasn't great. Messing up just once could screw them over. No wonder he would get so nervous he'd throw up. Both his and Holostars' situation is different now. Not only did he gain experience as a streamer, Holostars won't crash and burn if, for whatever reason, he screwed up.

IIRC he told that a girl he had crush on was bullied by his fanclub which is the reason why he stops being nice to girls (or maybe just his fanclub girls).

He had anxiety as a streamer in Holostars, not in general. Before then, as he's stated multiple times, the majority of his friends irl have been girls, so there's no way he only recently became comfortable talking with women is true. The high school fan club is also a consistent story he has told to fans over the years.

You can argue that this is only related to his vtuber career, but again it makes no sense for him to say he doesn't know how to talk to women ONLY in the vtuber industry. Just because he's shy around girls doesn't mean this story is fake as they're not contradicting. Astel is always been shy around people he just met (maybe even worse with girls) on stream, he's been working on this. It's very different from off stream as everything you said is recorded and watched (and judged) by people. If you're wondering how Astel got those dates, this man can't say no to people. He even said yes to Rpr's BL plan when BL is his NG.

And having a fan club of 70 women and getting asked out several times a month should definitely make you less shy as you're more experienced. Also he went on 3 different Christmas dates. I love astel don't get me wrong. But only a somewhat insensitive douche would do that, not someone shy of everyone let alone girls lmao. I don't think you realise how much Christmas means for couples in Japan. Going on 3 different dates is crazy

It's fine if you don't trust his story (in fact, you should take everything Vtuber said with grain of salt) but it's not impossible for a person having million subscribers, having collabs left and right and still being shy around people they just met.
