Dude, whoever is now in charge of the Nixon Foundations media team needs a pay raise. It is 2024, and the NF is out here making YT short content hyping up Nixon and not only not being cringy, but actually making it into good content on par (and even exceeding) similar content on the platform. Im not a Nixon fan, but cheers to you Mr Nixon Foundation Social Media Manager. Keep making your banger content.

I agree. Somehow I've been getting shorts from Nixon and Reagan lately. I think it is too bad that Lech Wałęsa got his KZfaq channel cut off. I believe that's what happened. Non understanding of copyright possibly. On his Facebook page he has a link to a KZfaq channel which does not exist. And that's too bad. We need to remember democracy is important

@@user-so9yu8pu4y Nixon still had his fair share of Chrisma. However, Nixon was already a fixture on the national scene for 8 years. As glamorous and regal, that the media try to make the Kennedys appear; as much as the Kennedy machine makes Jack look young and have "vigah", Richard Nixon is only 4 years older than JFK. JFK is like the brand new car, that comes off the lot; while, Nixon is like the car a person has had for 8 years, almost in perfect condition, and has plenty of miles to go.

I will certainly concede that Nixon was indeed an intelligent, charismatic, and effective president, despite the corruption.

I think this is the case for a number of reasons. History is beginning to show that Nixon was likely one of the best presidents the US never deserved. His foreign policy insights especially regarding the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Russia's turn to totalitarianism following a missed opportunity by the US and Clinton to step in and cultivate a Democratic 21st century. His domestic policy that saw the creation of the EPA, preservation of our natural resources, and steps towards a national dividend to replace social welfare (like Alaska), were light years ahead of any other president we've seen in the last 100 years. Despite the Watergate scandal, his Quaker morality anchored his policy and centered his ethics like few Presidents before and none since. Lastly, as the current Republican party splits and dies under the weight of the religious right, anti-science, anti-diplomatic, isolationist, and populist sentiment, its clear that Nixon is the president that we did not deserve but desperately need..

Nixon never participated in combat during his Naval Career. He was a logistics commander for Air Combat Command. Kennedy was a PT boat captain who literally engaged the enemy, survived his boat being cut in half by a Japanese destroyer, helped rescue a crew mate, and led his men to rescue. And then went back out again. 'Silver Spoon' he may have been, but it is not as if he was sheltered like other 'rich' sons. Both men were good debaters, which is what set them apart from most politicians. Kennedy simply was more charismatic.

Well, it was his own stupidity. He won the election in a landslide. But some of his lower level goons thought they should rob the Watergate. Nixon never told them to do that but his fall was because he tried to cover it up.

I’m a Democrat. A modern day one too, though none of that lefty bullshit. There’s no question Nixon is one of the greatest modern Presidents, maybe one of the greatest all time. His dedication to cancer research and his opening trades with China were monumental. A great statesman, that unfortunately made a bad decision to cover up a crime he wasn’t a part of. It’s a pity watergate clouds an otherwise legendary administration

Why only after they’re gone, we begin to appreciate them? Nixon was one of the greatest presidents, and yet he was sacrificed and we all sat on the side and watched his demise. Imagine how this world would be and how this country would be if you finish his presidency, no Middle East crisis, no unfounded wars!

I remember picking his biography for a book report in 8th grade, because he was always kind of treated like a villain. It was really good. I always had respect for him after that.

Just bought his book “Beyond Peace” and “Leaders” - both are great but I recommend Beyond Peace to anyone looking for a vision for the renewal of the American national interest in the 21st century. He really sets the pace for the future of our collective national mind and habit.

It was Nixon who ordered the 6th fleet on full alert when the Soviets were enroute to Cairo to assist the Egyptian army in the first Yom Kipper war in 1973. Our Ballistic Missile submarine on patrol in the Arctic ocean was put on full alert (Battle Station Missile) for an extended period of time in response. Net result: they turned their Spetsnaz flights around and went back to Moscow. Badass!
