Very true. Me and estranged hubby had that transparency in the first 4years in our marriage. This year was the 5th. My mistake was encouraging him to finish his Matric, that's where he started feeling young again and began collecting contact nrs from females my age. This one stupid day, I just wanted to hotspot from his phone, as usual and he jumped, it was so obvious he was hiding something. When i checked i realized he has been flirting and deleting, just that he couldn't clean his staff properly. I found traces of evidence. It ruined our marriage. He is 41 and I'm 31. I left. Transparency is amazing when you can keep up.
