So another HUGE tip for Harpoon! if your playing with friends and say are moving allot of material across base. Have your friend pick up everything and become overweight and turn pvp on. You can Harpoon them and drag and it burns 0 of their stamina and makes movement much faster (Bonus tip: works while they are carrying a cart as well.)

On my 1st run I didn't know copper ore goes under ground. It was so tedious to haul back to the base that I never had the problem of hoarding it 😂 But you can never have too much iron 😅

I made the mistake of having only one game early on and corrected it later. I now have a *storage/safe place* game where I put my house, storage, items, etc. And I have a game where I explore, farm and harvest. So wherever I am in the "harvest" game, if I need something or if i'm encumbered, I just unlog, go to my storage game, empty my pockets, and go on. That also gives me a stamina reset and a rested bonus. Hehe 😎👍🐗

Bonjour! *heh*. You're right, I might as well subscribe. There were even a couple I didn't know about yet (chests under raven throne, harpooning birds). Cool, thanks! There's a lot of spare fine wood in the game aside from the ones you mentioned -- that little stool next to the barrel at those tall stone houses, table and benches in swamp stilt houses, tables in skeleton towers... but by the time one gets to those, I doubt anyone doesn't have a bronze axe. I just like taking decrepit things apart (repair first!) more than I like deforesting my world, especially since the trees that gives fine wood can't be regrown from seed (yet). Hoarding and overproducing isn't a mistake -- it's my reason for being. Shut up. ;)

the mining tip and the harpooning birds tip are the two best easily. I never thought of using the harpoon just because of how cheap wood arrows are. A note on overproducing though: a small amount of overproducing is perfectly fine if you are anticipating more use of something in the future. a note about armor at the bronze stage: troll leather armor has the same value as bronze armor, but with no slow down. There is literally no reason to make bronze armor in the game, unless you really like the look.

Except for bronze helmet. It has much higher armor than the troll counterpart.
@MrMaltelein
@MrMaltelein Жыл бұрын
Not true anymore. Before accessing iron, you can upgrade troll armor to a max of level 3 (workbench level 4) and armor value of 10, while you can also upgrade bronze to level 3 (smith 3) with an armor value of 12. So a full set of bronze armor max upgraded before iron age, you get 6 armor value more than with troll.

#9 many trophies are used for bait. The skeleton is for a shield. The fire 🔥 make good lights, and usez for bait. Also....bones can be demolished and turned to coal. Yeah you dont need to grab everything but it can all be turned to coal if you have too much. Also, all that bronze u can use for throw away arrows. I mean don't over produce bit if you do..

As someone who uses a lot of ore in decorating that one hoarding tip is less helpful than others, but definietely completely overdoing it is a nono, only thing i'd say is fine to hoard is iron, that stuff is needed a LOT in late game and building huge structures.
@NizarGG
@NizarGG 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely. The emphasis is really on whether you need it or not. I tried to showcase this by the comparison between thistles (useful) and trophies (mostly purely decorative).
@porous9
@porous9 3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree on the hoarding. I don't even bother to upgrade items anymore, I rush straight to Silver items while skipping Bonemass. The only items I upgrade are the Finewood Bow (for The Elder fight) and Stagbreaker so that it lasts longer while slamming the ground in Mountain to find Silver. Other than that, everything else stays at base level. Once I've got Padded armour, Blackmetal Shield, Axe and Atgeir, Draugr Fang and Frostner/Porcupine, then I'll start upgrading. Another thing I've stopped doing is building doors and gates. It takes three actions to get through a door/gate - approach, hit E to open door/gate, move through, turn around and hit E again to close it. Instead, I make a low-slung large window (one tile off the ground, at least three tiles tall) on the ground floor in my base. That is my entrance/exit and it's a one-action process to get through it - approach and hit spacebar to jump through. It's perfectly safe too as monsters can't jump so nothing can enter my base. I've also stopped building walls and moats around my base as they aren't necessary. It's quite involved as it entails keeping beehives away from my main base and also ensuring that Trolls can't get close to the smoke from my chimney. Those are the only two things that cause monsters to attack base structures in my experience. So I put my 'outside stuff' (beehives, windmill, crop fields) in a walled-off farming area in Plains (so that I can grow Barley and Flax there too) and connect that to my perimeter-wall-less moat-less everything-inside base via a portal. I'd far rather do that than spend hours digging moats and erecting walls.
@porous9
@porous9 3 жыл бұрын
With my 'no hoarding' approach, I've found that 9 Reinforced Chests is all the storage I need in end-game: 1 next to my smelting area for wood, coal and ore 1 next to my Workbench for arrow crafting components and spare arrows 1 next to my Forge for ingots, linen and bric-a-brac like Deer Hides and Leather Scraps 2 next to my Hearth for food and mead ingredients and spare meads/meals 1 next to my entrance/exit for Fishing Rod, baits and treasure items (gold, Rubies, etc) 1 at my farm for the Cultivator, seeds and unprocessed food items like Barley for the Windmill 2 in my bedroom for obsolete/spare items like armour and weapons from previous ages. The further bonus is that I don't need to identify any chest. I know what's in it because it's right next to the workstation where I use it. If I'm looking for Entrails, for eg, I'll go straight to the chests next to my Hearth. That's where I use Entrails so where else would I store them? The other bonus is that I don't get Encumbered because the chest is reachable while I'm standing at the workstation. So even if I take a resource that Encumbers me, like 45 Silver for the final Frostner upgrade, I'm using it where I stand and don't need to walk anywhere with it.

Harpoon isn't exactly something I would recommend as a must, as 1) it's pretty much considered late game based on when you unlock it, and 2) needing to tame boars and move things around is more early game. So it's a recommendation, not a necessary.

Advises against over hoarding then advises to always empty beehives.... How many chests of honey do I need? 0.o' :P I would argue that the hoarding tip is actually a negative when it comes to wood and stone. Holy ****!!! I use so much of that stuff. @m.hnamdari8338 3 жыл бұрын
You got it wrong! as i learned from him: Honey is always useful because you need it to make special foods and you even do that in end game Also wood and stone are always used in everything you build and make If you actually need something its not called overproducing Sometimes you just go hours mining and after smelting them you wont even need all of those some metals as you progress in game and get better equipments wont be needed anymore just like the flint that i never use anymore after a few days in game and bronze, and is just a waste of storage because you dont even need them to repair things in this game... So why overproducing them? Tell us if we are wrong
@robertparker3281
@robertparker3281 3 жыл бұрын
@@m.hnamdari8338 You're wrong. Honey is useful but when you can get more than you need in a single gather then you don't need to gather all the time. Collecting the honey means you have to either use it or store it while leaving it in the hives is free. Get yourself 50 hives and tell me that you need to collect every time you go past. As for the stone, once players can gather it then they'll hit a personal limit on current use till iron and then it'll be a big use. Hoarding prior to iron is still hoarding. Just cause it can then be useful doesn't take away from the fact it can be hoarded prior. I didn't say anything about metals. I mentioned building mats as a bit of humor... Clearly you couldn't see that. I played on how fun it is to build and how fast we can spend mats when building.
@riplix20
@riplix20 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertparker3281 Beehives can have 4 honey max, at 20 real life minutes per honey, if a new player has one beehive it’d take them 8 hours and 20 minutes to be able to get a single stack of honey, one of the most widely used items in the game. Sure if you have 50 beehives why bother checking every time you walk by, but at that point I’d just argue that you *hoarded and overproduced beehives* and are trying to somehow argue that the tip which works in every scenario except your hypothetical is bad. P.S. Gathering things in advance which are currently useless but will soon become important isn’t called hoarding, it’s called “planning”.

The mining tip isn't great. It doesn't really apply to small deposits like tin or obsidian. At the same time, undercutting a large deposit of something like copper will make the entire thing shatter, and digging through dirt is much faster than breaking directly through stone.
