I like how the worker contradicted himself. Maintenance try’s to fix it and it keeps coming back and then later maintenance doesn’t do anything about it.

No contradiction, what he was saying was it’s a lingering issue and even though they’ve attempted to correct it, it keeps coming back, pretty much like filling in a pothole when it needs to be completely repaved, temporary solutions never get the job done

@@theblackhood4812 Trying to fix it and doing nothing is a contradiction. Now it seems like it wasn’t even a track issue. That’s why I took it with a grain of salt. I just thought it was funny in the same interview he said maintenance tries, and maintenance doesn’t so anything.

Why cant they rebuild it with the same exact turns n such? Or is this a park maintenance issue?
@officialbeebos
@officialbeebos Жыл бұрын
@@Chronically_JBoo It's expensive to tear down rides. And a coaster of El Toro's size? Forget about it. It'd be way too much money for them to tear down, plus SFGA would lose a lot of traffic if they removed arguably their best coaster. Recently I read something about them fixing the pothole soon, but a scheduled reopening isn't in place yet. It came out that employees KNEW about the pothole, and they kept telling maintenance about it, and they didn't so anything about and the pothole got worse and now an incident happened; all because maintenance was lazy, I'm guessing. So, they need to really crack down on maintenance, because especially for a wooden coaster, it needs constant checkups and care. Thankfully it isn't that the coaster is faulty and just maintenances fault, but still. Hoping once it reopens this doesn't happen again, and maintenance get their act together.

El Toro needs a re-track and reprofile as well as trains that have seats that are fully padded and are tolerant of track degradation. Padded seats act like shock absorbers to the human body on wooden coasters.

First of all if the employee notice something wrong with the ride then why did it open and if the maintenance knew about it then why did they open it. That’s one reason I like DOLLYWOOD if something is wrong with a ride it will remain closed until it get fix and no one will ride it until everything is totally safe for operations.

As I wrote in a previous post, there is a lot of pressure to keep the "marquee" rides running. The first question an operator will get, if they call in an observation, is, "Do you need to shutdown"? Puts the pressure on the operator to disappoint guests and kill throughput. And many of these operators are in their teens and making those decisions are hard enough for adults.

I guess in theory a pothole is a separation of track from structure or it's ledger. But, it's more a dip in the running track... If anything, it's a sinking support structure or ledger (horizontal members track is connected to and that is then connected to support structure) or one that can't handle the forces and is bowing under the pressure. Remember, 3 g's found in the valleys of the ride means a 20k pound train weighs 60k pounds. This is clearly Six Flags being cheap. I'm pretty sure most of the other coasters of this same model of wooden Intamin pre-fab coaster (4 exist) has had it's track replaced/re-tracked in recent years They are all about the same age (opened 2001,2003,2006,2008 the 4 opened) and at that point in their life cycle where a the re-track is the logical course of action as problems add up over the years. These are SUPER intense wooden coasters that exert a lot more forces than classic wooden coasters. This is Six Flags, as always (especially under their new greedy, penny pinching CEO) going the cheap route. 2:10 That statement means jack shit when they literally just did that exact same thing a few months ago from another accident. Needs a full re-tracking. Absolutely no getting around it.

@jonny-b4954 2 жыл бұрын
@@NickyD Maybe you're right. But I wouldn't be surprised if Six Flag's cheap maintenance in recent years didn't contribute. I mean, 2 crashes in 1 year basically? They are the owners of the ride, they are supposed to see problems coming and fix them. And they supposedly did, just recently after 1st accident. But, like I'm suspecting, they went cheap with the repairs needed to truly bring it up to where a park like... say Disney or Cedar Point would want the ride. But yeah, I've personally thought the pre-fab idea was a bad one. Wooden coasters simply shouldn't be that forceful, if you ask me. It hasn't really ever worked out from what I've seen. Son of Beast.
