This bus is retired, but these seats with the NJTransit art is very classic, but very worn out. The new blue seats they’re slowly replacing on some suburbans & 5700s are comfortable.

Don’t worry, I’ll keep doing videos on the #10 as well. They started using the older NABIs for these routes & this is the 2nd time I’ve been inside of an older NABI for #10.

Only at the very back you have those seats. That’s how the buses are designed.

New Jersey has pretty much beat these Nabi buses up to such an extent. They look worse than buses in the Bronx. I really hope New Jersey replaces these with either BYD or Proterra or both

@@nobody_5201 The Nabis are good solid buses but NJT beat those buses senseless. We all know the 5200s are done and worn out. But just look at their newest ones. Mainly their 6000s. The wheels are coated with grime and dirt. The back of the buses look sooted out. They are are all dented up. Inside those vinyl cushioned seats are all flat now with duct tape on some of them and there is rust and corrosion in the rear door frames. I really would like to see these replaced with BYD. Jersey is still running all diesel buses. They can not be doing that anymore with the global warming going on. NJT has no choice but to go green. And the best way to be in compliance with the clean air regulations, is for NJT to replace all of their Nabis with emission free units

@@milestone_achiever4634, just because they’re “worn out” doesn’t mean they can’t fix them. It’s up to them if they wanna have them still running in service & not the passengers. Everything’s not about being “fancy”. They’ve had buses that were running close to 20 years like the Neoplans. It’s been 14 years since the NABIs were 1st running. I’d say they should keep the NABIs running for 4/5 more years then retire them. & the buses get dirty because of how people treat them. The seats I really don’t care if they have duct tape on them because I rather sit on those than those uncomfortable seats on their XD60s. But they’re starting to replace the seats on some of their NABIs so that’s irrelevant. Only time will tell on when NJ Transit will replace the NABIs, & it will be a very disappointing & sad day for me when that does happen.

@@nobody_5201I miss the RTS buses NJT had do much. They can tackle the snow pretty good. The Nabis have a very hard time in snow. What was your favorite NJT bus? The Flixible Metro with the Cummins engine, the RTS or Nabi?
@milestone_achiever4634
@milestone_achiever4634 Жыл бұрын
Truthfully speaking, I will give the NABIs alot of credit. Those engines have a lot of power. Between the CAT and Cummins engines, they can hold their own on the highway. I had made a comment in the past on how the Nabis can run neck and neck with MCI buses. They are very exciting to be on, those occasions you are on 495 or the turnpike.

Worse of worse worlds, NABI bus powered by a Cat C9 engine.

What’s so bad about these buses? All you do is talk trash about them.
@zythr9999

@@nobody_5201 Question is what is so good about them? To answer your question the ones that GCRTA have/had were bad, especially the later models powered by the C9. Many broke down often, many leaked from the escape hatch, the overhead air vents, and the rubber that supported the plexiglass from the side windows. With Nabi, defunct and CAT not making over the highway engines for buses anymore, their service time was cut back and routes shortened; so they would not have to be serviced as much. This led to longer wait times and route cuts. Adding insult to injury, the fares were raised with this reduction in service. Now for GCRTA, they're slowly being phased out and the ones that remain are being used on routes that don't "stress" them. It's so nice to see how the Gillig BRTs have settled in some of the routes the NABis used to do, with the added bonus of the routes being longer, coming more frequently and the lower fares. It will be a great day when the remaining GCRTA NABIs are gone.

@@zythr9999, you’re not wrong. I do see oil leaking out of almost every NABIs. The older NABIs are my favorite buses from NJ Transit & will always be. They hold a good amount of passengers & they are high floor buses. In the future, NJ Transit will replace them (which would be sad for me at least). I’ve rode these buses for many years & it was mostly a great experience. I like the NABIs way more than the XD60s that they have.
@zythr9999
@zythr9999 Жыл бұрын
@@nobody_5201 That's good. Maybe your transit system had the better made ones. The majority of GCRTAs weren't so lucky. When they broke down which was pretty often, they had to use a flatbed tow truck to tow them, which is expensive, especially when they when a tractor and trailer combination would get the call. Have you ever been on one where one side of the suspension failed with the failed side leaning over to one side? I have and it was a miserable ride for all, especially when it would hit any pothole causing the whole side to bounce up and down.
