Ok, but why would you "cycle" an empty tank? I know it's goldfish so no plants, but some sand at least for the future bacteria to live. My cycling took about a month, month and a half, with all the hardscape and plants. Would be smart to explain the proper nitrogen cycle, how the bacteria eats, where it lives etc. Lots of beginners watching this.

@@Lotofrot Absolutely not, but most of the bacteria lives in the substrate, why would you waste precious time for an empty tank. And again, 2 weeks is not enought, you'll expose the fish to an ammonia and you'll have to do a fish-in cycle. Which is not a huge issue, but why expose the fish to toxicity?

@@nikolastojanovic9348bacteria can live on biological media in filter, it's not aqua scape should be use sand. recommendations for goldfish is a clear tank.

You need to investigate even more, it happen to me, look for Luke’s Goldies - The best substrate. Also, you won’t cycle a tank with fish never, you can add shrimp for tropicals for testing but not fish on cycling tank, there are also no light cycling.

@@nikolastojanovic9348 With enough Good Quality Bio-media within the filter, you can cycle a clean tank (no substrate) within 2-3 weeks. I have done this before, and I do with all my "New Tanks". As long as the filter used is capable of holding more bio-media than the stock and tank requirements, you should reach a full nitrogen cycle so it's all good. For further reference of amounts of media needed per filter used. See PondGuru he tells it as it is, no BS!
